Hey Moon-star!
I was discussing the character/wolf limit with Arbie recently and we were wondering what everyone else thought about it. Obviously it's there for a reason, we both completely understand that sometimes people can get carried away and take more wolves than they can keep active, but we think that it's such a shame for so many pups to go to waste each year, and for so many characters to get left behind. Also, since we have a small community, it’s difficult to build up plots with such small packs and only a few characters per person. Roleplaying wolves can be so much easier to keep track of than humans, and seeing as we all know each other so well I’m sure that none of us would take a higher character limit for granted and go crazy. Maybe if there were certain rules, like you had to earn more characters by keeping current ones active? I don’t really know how it would work.
Of course neither of us want to undermine Paint and Webby’s decision, so we thought the best idea was to raise a discussion about possibly increasing the character limit. Let us know what you think! (:

IIII second all this 100%, obviously. As Moony said, I hate seeing pups and previous pups left behind because of the character limit. With the people we have now, I trust everyone to not go crazy with characters (:
As for seeing how many characters... How about something like, with every new character, we need x amount of finished threads with that character, or y amount of new posts after each character?

Yay discussion time!
I would lovelovelove to have more characters, like the old days when we were allowed like 8. It seemed to work out well, I never remember having a character I personally negelected and it allowed for a wider range of characters... For instance, we no longer have elder wolves...maybe because they're not as fun for everyone. (I personally love to role play old people. elders, but am unwilling to give up my younger generation.) We also would definately have leftover pups and I admit I had my eye on three pups and had to settle for the one.
On the other hand, a larger amount of characters....well, I can't actually think of any cons at the moment. I think I thought of a couple the other day but I don't remember? If everyone has more characters it would probably just mean more couples, which means more pups, which means MORE unclaimed characters. But also gives us more reasons to kill of older characters and keep the circle of life moving, in a sense. So perhaps there's a good pro vs con point?
GOSH IDK. I THINK WE COULD ALL HANDLE MORE CHARACTERS IN THE END.

I know, I can see the cons and I agree /: I'm mostly just worried about neglect but, like Midnight said, we never really neglected characters before when there wasn't that much of a limit.
I'm still all for it though (x

Yeah I can totally see why it could go wrong if people got too greedy, or if wolves were mating all over the place and there were still lots of unused pups, but I really think we could be sensible with it.

I am perfectly happy to allow a larger character limit (: I think it would be safe to say that old/returning members (so all of you guys basicsss) are allowed more characters, as long as you're active with them. I can't actually remember what the character limit is at the moment? But yeah, I think earning characters based on loyalty/activity basis would be absolutely fine, especially with such a small community.
I doubt Webby will have a problem with this, I will ask her soon but I seriouuusly doubt she'll mind. She'd been less active recently because she's just finished school, so hopefully she'll be back soon (:
So to conclude... yes! What do we all think should be the character limit for loyal members?

Staff can have five, loyal/returning have 4 and normal have 3, as I recall (:! But I'm glad this went swimmingly, haha.****
Hmmm. I'm honestly not fussed. Perhaps... six? I feel like I'm being just greedy now trying to think of a number, I don't want to see too crazy haha x:
**** that sounded way confusing. That's the limit as it is now, haha.

Weeelll I suppose that's okay, 6. If everyone can keep up with them all and there's no neglect etccc, then I don't see a problem (: I was going to say 5, just as a trial, but if I think about it, I keep up with all of mine just fine, so the rest of you will easssyyypeasy (:

Haha yeah I'm with Arbie, I don't want to seem greedy by picking a number, so I guess it's up to you, Paint x)
But 6 would be class, js :3

Okay, six sounds good. BUT may I please request that if you have 4 at the moment, you just get 1 more for now, not 2... otherwise you might be neglectful. So basiccsss choose your characters carefully (: I want them to be wuvved.
But yes, 6 is the new limit for loyal/active members.

SO DOES THAT MEAN SINCE I HAVE 3 I CAN HYPOTHETICALLY CLAIM 2 MORE PUPS?
*cough*

Haha, yes Middy, that's sort of the point I think (: So more pups get claimed.

Awesome. I claimed Binah (: And if I take on Caden, that'll give me 5.. So I'll be set for a while. Good, I feel whole again. The hardest part is waiting for the pups to be born and to get old enough to role play! And then I'm always scared that they'll end up like Taya, with no plots and no ties...and then I realize that I'm blabbing on about nothing related to the thread, so I shut up :x
