Pitt laid in the soft grasses and stretched himself out. He enjoyed the breeze as it cool him down. the summer was getting to him, with all the heat and humidity. He licked a paw and flicked his ears, listening for wolves, or prey. He was getting hungry, but moving just seemed to much work for him at the moment. He was lazy right now, and it seemed alright.
He smiled a little and closed his eyes. It was great to feel the wind and smell the forest smells. He was at peace for once in a great while. But...the thought of his family always stirred worry in him. His father was diseased and he didn't know if he was alive. His mother still loved the savage that his father turned into...and now he wondered if she was even still alive. He sighed. Peace was only achieved if there was nothing in the back of your mind to keep you on edge. He hated thinking about the earthquake. Only being a pup at the time, he didn't remember much of what went on. All he knew was that he had ran as soon as it began. He couldn't believe that he just left his family like that! What would Kazu think!
He knew exactly what Kazu would have thought...Kazu would have been angry, and wanted nothing to do with him anymore... What about Esmerelda...What would she think about it? He didn't know, and it pained him to think about his sister, and ever making her ashamed of him. All he really wanted was to be wanted.
He thought about the new leader of Dancing Stars. Caden. He seemed like a strong wolf with good intentions. He sure made this pack what it was. His father could have never amounted to that. Silently, Pitt wished upon everything he knew, that he never became like his father.

OOC. I'm about to bring in Bandit. If you want to see how Bandit and Pitt are related, you can check the Family Trees thread in OOC-Forum Chat (:
Bandit was wandering with somewhat of a purpose. She'd gone off on her own recently, to think, to really consider her place here. And her heritage. It burned in her stronger than anything else, and truly she felt that it never left her. But greater than that right now, she felt as if she hadn't seen Caden in a long time. She wanted to speak with him, to find out how the pack was doing. To find where they stood with one another.
Yet, as she travelled, vaguely looking for the Alpha, a strangely familiar smell crossed her. Her ears flicked with interest. She wondered why it smelt so familiar when she couldn't place it. She'd heard around the pack that her niece, Esmerelda, had recently joined the pack, and she had been intending on speaking to her and welcoming her. Perhaps this was her?
Bandit hurried her step slightly, still holding herself gracefully. Her amber eyes were vibrant with curiosity. She was tall for a female, and striking if not classically beautiful due to her duotone pelt. From her vivid eyes she caught sight of the tawny pelt of a young male. She blinked a few times. She did not recognise him, apart from his scent. Still, she had left the Stars before he was born in the last pack, but there was something about him that drew her to him.
"Hello," she called out evenly, moving vaguely towards him but sitting a little way off to allow him space. She watched him, calmly, still trying to place him. She doubted that he would recognise her, because she was not there during the earthquake, but still.

Pitt looked up at a wolf that smelled so very familiar. He looked up to see female wolf standing before him. She had said hello, but he barely heard her, for he was trying to place her. She smelt so familiar, but he didn't recognize her at all! "Hello there." He wagged his tail in a friendly gesture and kept looking at her.
She was a very pretty female and felt that she was nice as well. He looked around him, at the land that grew green and fresh. He loved this area, and it always gave him peace when he came here. He still worried about his family and wanting to find him, but whenever he needed to, he came here to get away from it all.
He looked back at her and once again got a sense that he knew her from somewhere, even though that he had never seen her before. The feeling was strange and almost alien to him, so it intrigued him.

Bandit racked her brains, dipping her head to show she'd heard his reply. She wasn't much of a talker anyway, but she knew that this would require some kind of conversation. She didn't want to be too intrusive, but he didn't exactly sound unhappy to have the company. She cleared her throat slightly.
"Are you new? Have you just joined this pack?" she decided this would be the best step forward. She probably should've given her name or something, but the thought slipped her mind. She didn't know many wolves who actually knew who she was. Her time in the Dancing Stars passed so long ago, when she was so young.
Her ears flicked slightly in irritation, but she kept her fiery eyes trained on the younger wolf. She'd seen many this age, such as Bion, or Esmerelda. But just because he was the same age did not mean that he was a previous Dancing Stars wolf... but the coincidence intruiged her.

Looking at her for awhile, he concluded that she looked familiar but most wolves do. When she asked if he was new, and if he just joined the back and nodded his head, "Yes. I am new...I joined not long ago." He looked at her and wondered what her name was.
He looked at her, pondering if telling her was a good idea. He was shy, and didn't exactly like to be the first to speak, even though he enjoyed company. He pushed his thoughts and feelings aside and cleared his throat, "My name is Pitt. What is yours?" He still felt like she was very familiar and that he knew her from somewhere. Where though, was still the mystery.

Bandit studied him slightly. Dappled black and brown coat, white markings, yellow eyes. She herself looked entirely different, but most wolves within their family did. She didn't know quite why she thought they were family, but something about his scent was really getting under her skin. At his words, she came back to reality, amber eyes glancing back into his as she spoke.
"Hello Pitt. My name is Bandit," she replied, cogs in her brain turning as she attempted to place him. It was times like this that really irritated her, because it made her regret leaving the valley when she was so young. She never really knew this generation, she'd left before even her father had died. She'd heard so much of Caerwyn's illness and the earthquake but she'd never been there for any of it. Who was she to say that she knew this wolf? Her ears temporarily folded back as she fell into quiet anger at herself.
He seemed a little shy, but a lot of wolves were when they first joined a pack. Although emotionally he didn't look like a fighter, Bandit was sure she could see muscle. They needed some strong wolves, with the impending threat of the Falling Moons. It would only take so long before their pups were grown into warriors. If Bandit were in charge, she was sure she'd work harder on creating stronger, more protective wolves. She believed Caden was too soft on them.
"Sorry," she abruptly said. "You remind me of someone. Well, sort of. Were you from Empyrean Valley?" She finally decided it would just be easier to ask.

Pitt watched her as she studied him. It was almost like she was angry, her facial expressions often switched. He tilted his head and tried to place her. He had never seen her before, but her scent brought back images of his mother and father, and he didn't know why. When she asked if he was from Empyrean Valley he looked into her amber eyes.
"Yes. I was. The earthquake separated me from my family, and I found my way here." He looked at her, searching in his mind where he has seen her before. Then suddenly, an image of Justyn came into his mind. His brother...oh how he was afraid of his brother...he realized that, Justyn didn't remind him of Bandit, just that the scents were familiar.
Justyn didn't like Pitt all that much. Pitt respected Justyn all the same though, since he was older. Pitt wondered if his siblings survived the earthquake. He knew his mother and father might be dead, but his siblings? Were they?

Bandit knew that it was rude to pry, but his answer irritated her further. She knew that she had no asked him specifically for his life story, but she wanted more information. Unlike many wolves, Bandit was not one to hold back when she had something to say. She much preferred to be upfront than to lie for no reason. Although sometimes difficult to read, if she wanted you to know something, you soon would.
"Excuse me for being abrupt, and if this is painful. But who were your family?" she stared at him with the same intensity her father had often burned with when scrutinising people. She had felt the same gaze from the dead Alpha enough times to know what it felt like to be beneath it, but she found it difficult to turn away.
She found it quite difficult to work this wolf out. He seemed to have a sort of natural shyness about him, like many wolves, but an inner strength that she was sure she'd heard of in only a select few. She took a deep breath, glancing away momentarily before looking back, this time with less intensity.

Pitt knew that she would eventually get to asking that question. It was all over her face, her curiosity got that best of her. He sat up and tilted his head, "My family. My father was Cearwyn, and my Mother was Midnight. My brothers are Kazuki and Justyn, and my sister is Esmarelda. Do you know them by chance?" He titled his head again and perked his ears.
Maybe she was so familiar because she had been around his family? Maybe she was his family? It was still so hard to tell and he hoped that the impending mystery would be over with soon..he was starting to get a headache. But of course he would never tell her that, that would be rude, and he was fond of the company that he was getting. Lately he has been getting ignored and he found hurtful.
He wasn't that bad of a wolf after all...even if his father had turned into a monster...it wasn't like he was going to after all.

Bandit immediately felt a flurry of emotions- relief, confusion, happiness. That was who he reminded her of- Midnight. He had Caerwyn's brown and black in his fur, which made sense, and she was sure that Midnight had had yellow eyes. The scent as well, the strong scent of family, it suddenly made perfect sense. If she had been an emotional wolf, she would have burst into tears, but instead she simply sighed and moved straight into the information he needed.
"Yes, I know them," she almost laughed, but knew this was not a laughing matter. Who knew how far her poor nephew had travelled, alone? "My father was Xaka, who was your grandfather. Caerwyn was my brother. I believe I am your aunt."
She wasn't sure what more there was to say. Part of her wanted to draw him towards her, make him feel safe, but she knew that she was not a terribly affectionate wolf. She found it hard to express herself in that way. She'd never thought of it as a flaw really until moments like this, when she knew that her mother would've known just what to do. She smiled, though, a genuine smile.

Pitt suddenly felt like he was hit in the face with reality. He had found a family member, and he didn't even know her. Maybe his family was alive, and not just Bandit! He looked into her brown eyes, and then at her black and white fur. She didn't look anything like him, but that's okay. Most family members didn't. He was her aunt, Cearwyn's sister...he looked at her again.
She didn't show any signs of going crazy which was good. "Do you know if my mother and father are dead?" He knew that the question was abrupt, but he needed to know. Needed the pain of not knowing to just go away and the only way to do that was to just ask.
He was scared to find out the answer though. He wanted his father to be dead. He knew he was savage and deadly, but his mother? Oh how he wished she was alive, so then he could find some comfort in the world that had got torn out from beneath him. A pang of quilt suddenly hit him, it was him who fled in the time of chaos. He left his family first, it would be a miracle if his family even excepted him.

Bandit slowly shook her head. She knew what it was to lose your parents, but at least she'd had the closure of knowing that they were dead. Her expression became empathetic and she sighed quietly.
"I'm afraid I don't know. I wasn't actually around for the earthquake- I left the valley a long time ago before then. But I know all about my brother, and Midnight. I wish I could tell you, but I can't," she shook her head again, sadly.
How many more wolves were there? How many more family members would stumble here after so many years? She thought it was bad enough after one year, but two... it seemed too much. She knew what it was like to keep moving to stop the pain, but it seemed only natural to her now that any of the Stars would seek out a place here in the new valley. Once they caught scent of the new Stars pack.
Suddenly her ears pricked up. There was some good news she could give him, after all.
"But Esmerelda. She's alive. She was a loner in this valley for a while, but now she has joined the Stars again," she smiled, relaying the news with joy. She decided that it would be best to let Es tell Pitt all about her new life, and Bandit realised that she didn't know much about it herself. "I can howl for her, if you'd like?"
She wasn't sure whether to mention Justyn. She'd only heard fleeting rumours about his whereabouts, and Bandit was anything but a rumour mill. Esmerelda would probably know more, so Bandit decided it was not her place to tell.

Pitt's eyes saddened when she couldn't tell him if his parents were dead or not. He looked down and put his ears back, but when she told him Esmeralda was alive, he perked his ears up and wagged his tail, "Yes, please do call her! I would love to see my sister after all these ears!"
He was excited and a little worried that maybe she wouldn't recognize him, or accept him...but he always worried about that kind of thing. Always. It was just who he was and he couldn't change that at all. So he learned to just get over it the best that he could.
He thought about Justyn and Kazu...maybe Es would know if they were alive or not. Oh how hope was growing in his chest.

Bandit smiled a little at his earnest response. She knew how much she would kill to see her siblings once again. Despite leaving the old valley so long before the earthquake, it killed her not to know if they'd survived or not. She was beginning to feel like the last one left, and she knew that she certainly wasn't getting any younger.
"I lost my parents too," she spoke more softly than usual, almost reaching out to her half-nephew with her words. She was proud to see that more of them had survived. With a deep breath, she lifted her muzzle and howled, an urgent but elated call for Esmerelda. Then she sat down, returning to her normal stance, and watching Pitt. Part of her wanted to make sure that he was real.
Esmerelda, meanwhile, was busying herself exploring the territory. When the howl reached her, she stood bolt upright and felt her ears flicker, catching the sounds. So it was Bandit, her aunt, but she sounded like she really needed her. With a smile, but slight confusion, Es took off across the land without wasting any time.
As she followed her nose the last leg of the journey, a new smell intermingled with Bandit's. Apart from, it wasn't a new smell. It was like Justyn, but having stripped away the Moons scent. She sped up, rushing forwards, not daring to believe it- when she crashed through the undergrowth, she let out a cry of happiness at seeing her long-lost brother. She would've recognised that black and brown pelt anywhere.
"Pitt!" she cried. Bandit smiled, feeling her heart swell proudly. She felt thankful for this valley. Esmerelda felt as if she could barely move for having run so fast, but a grin was plastered across her face.

It was a nice day for a walk, at least that was what he kept telling himself. No one else seemed to be around, which was what he wanted. He continued moving as it was best not to stay somewhere in a single spot too long or you would eventually be noticed. He was brilliant when it came to detection and if someone noticed this they would realize he could make a good scout. He had a very good sense of defense as well as having a slightly elevated sense of smell. His audits were no different than any other wolves but his vision was a bit improved as well.
Silver continued to move as he heard a howl his dormant scent receptors began to flare and he began to crouch as he scented two unfamiliar wolves. The stars omega who hadn't joined too long ago decides to crouch in the bushes and listen in, maybe get some new information on his own family. The trick was he wanted to know it without being discovered. He knew being quiet was going to be a huge part as well as stealth, but with a silver pelt how can you be sneaky?
He continued to inch into the brush and heard a plant swish back into place. He was too close to turn back, he knew he had to stay still and wait to see if they noticed. His greenish orbs poked up at the two not much more than a few feet away through the cracks in the brush made by the wind. He kept telling himself, over and over, 'Please let them think it is only the wind,' yet his audits perked and listened to see if he was found out. He knew most likely they were going to see him.
: OOC : Hope you guys don't mind, trying to get Silver out there a bit more. He is more peaceful till pushed, yet some wolves believe him to be a threat because of his anti-social behavior. : OOC :
