Almost prancing along the stream, Caerus was in a very good mood. He Hadn’t bumped into any mean wolves yet, and he still had all the fur on his face. He was feeling a little bit down, but he had a damn good reason to. Caerus had just lost his mate and siblings possibly forever, as well as his pack! He was once a great Alpha, with many wolves following behind him. Now what was he? A lonely loner with dust following behind him instead. But, now that he had gotten over the moody phase, he was attempting to be optimistic by thinking his mate was doing a wonderful job looking after the pack, and he would find his way back soon. But at the moment, he would just need to look out for bad wolves and good wolves. Good wolves were the best, obviously. He smiled to himself, stopping at the river and dipped his head down.
Perhaps Caerus would meet a wolf eventually, though. Would he rather see a male or female? Probably a male, just in case the female was pregnant. He loved pups, but would probably get too attached to the female, even if she had a mate. She would also probably be a bit moody. He knew his brother’s mate was when she was pregnant. It made him smile again at the memory of happy laughter, even if she was going off on a rant about how slow the hunters were being. Caerus dipped his maw into the cold rushing water, lapping up some of it as he raised his head again. Staring at the territory ahead, he sniffed the air. Nothing about. Hm.
Slowly putting a paw into the water, he made his way through as quickly as possible, not wanting to be taken away with the stream. Eventually making it, he shook the water from his fur. It looked like he had just fallen into it and managed to get himself back out, but whatever. Looking round, he wondered if this was a good or bad choice.

"Newcomer, are we?" Came a sleek voice that perfectly matched it's well-groomed owner. "Want to know how I can tell?" continued Tallulah in her effortlessly calculating voice. She sat a short distance away from the side of the river bank that Caerus had just swam to, carefully positioned in a manner so that the less-than perfect side of her was hidden. She sat side on next to a large tree trunk which covered the scars left by her mysterious attacker - while the wounds had healed up, her fur had yet to grow back, and self-concious as she was, she didn't like other wolves to notice there were deep claw marks down her side.
You'd have thought that after such an incident she wouldn't come anywhere near No Man's Land, but she was a fairly headstrong wolf. Her reckoning was that most loners would not dare cross the stream in the Falling Moon territory. Most wouldn't want to, firstly because even she had to admit the Dancing Stars had the better territory, and frankly, Dancing Stars were a whole lot less intimidating than many members of her pack. Especially her darling daddy, Duke. However, it appeared she'd been proved wrong, with the appearance of Caerus - however, she wasn't worried. He was on pack land, therefore he was the one in danger, not her. Anyway, he didn't really look like the malicious type. [/size]

Caerus’ ears perked and he looked round at Tallulah. Gosh, was she not too young to be out and about on her own? But, with half of her in shadows, she looked very elegant and mysterious, so he was a bit confused about her age. Tilting his head to the right, staring at Tallulah for a moment, he smiled and walked towards her, not looking at all cautious. No, wait, think that over Caerus. She could be like a black widow or something… Eats the husband when she has the babies. But they weren’t mates, so everything was fine! Stopping a few feet away, he sat down on his back side, not taking his eyes off of Tallulah. She was very pretty, from what he could see. Scanning her over quickly, he smiled. He liked questions!
He paused to think about it, but quickly figured out it wasn’t something he’d know. She seemed so careless with what she was saying. She must have a strong head on her shoulders, at least. “Sure.” he agreed, leaning forward almost eagerly to find out how exactly she knew he was new around here. It was amazing what some wolves could do, especially if it was about wolves that they didn’t even know the name of.

Tallulah smiled slightly (but she wouldn't grin, that would look foolish and break her perfect composure). Oh good, she'd got his attention. She liked attention. She felt her happiest when all eyes were on her, and any reason was good enough really. Other than if they'd caught her on a bad-fur-day of course, god, that'd be awful. Luckily, Tallulah spent a good deal of her time preening herself so that didn't happen too often. As Caerus started walking towards her, she felt glad - at least she was able to stay in a position that hid her scars for the time being.
"Well, she started in her liquid silver voice, as her dark eyes glittered bemusedly at the newcomer, before turning her head to look at a point in the river. "If you'd been here before, you'd know that the best place to cross the river is just up there, where that rock juts out and the current slows. But let's face it... If you'd been here before, you'd know not to cross the river in the first place. Oh, he was lucky her daddy wasn't here to see this. Nobody just wanders into Falling Moon territory and wanders back out without a scrape, if her family could help it. Luckily, Tallulah was a little more lenient. Considering this wolf would provide her with some attention and possibly entertainment, she wasn't too fussed about kicking him out of the territory just yet. [/blockquote]

He could see her smile quite clearly on half of her face, and it made her look all that more… Well, pretty. But he wasn’t the type to go saying that to random strangers, as much as it seemed like a Caerus thing to do. Unlike Tallulah, Caerus had now forgotten to take care of himself a bit better now that he was a loner. His fur was a bit ragged, but his cheery smile showed that he was just fine the way he was. But then he compared himself to Tallulah, and he suddenly felt rather… Nasty. Not in a perverted way or in a mean way, but in a hygienic way. He suddenly wanted to take a dip in the water again, but was too busy listening to Tallulah.
Oh. There was a place? Looking round ‘up there’, he noticed the rocks and his smile faltered. Looking back at the Falling Moon’s wolf, Caerus had forgotten one very important thing. Be cautious around new comers. You’d think he’d learned that being alpha, and he had, but was it so bad he was desperate for company? “oh, thanks, I’ll remember that.” he said cheerily, then his smile almost completely disappeared, “Uhhh. Why’s that?” Tilting his head to the right, Caerus frowned. He wanted to know.

As Caerus thanked Tallulah for the advice, she got the feeling that he was quite a polite, pleasant sort of wolf. She almost hoped that he'd cross back over the river sharpish, because he didn't seem to be the sort of wolf who'd try and withstand any other Falling Moon agression, should another of her pack members come along. But then again, that would ruin her fun, so she thought she'd spin out her explaination a little longer.
"You've just crossed into, let's say... the more dangerous part of Caden Valley. For you, at least." She replied rather vaguely, hoping that he'd ask more questions (so she'd get more attention.) However, as Caerus tilted his head, Tallulah (always quick to observe appearances) noticed that his fur glimmered slightly gold in the sunlight. How pretty. The fact that he was quite a good-looking wolf made her feel more sympathetic towards him (she had no time for ugly wolves, being such a gorgeous one in her own opinion), so she hesitated before explaining a little more.
"You're on Falling Moon land. And we're not a friendly bunch on the whole." Well, he couldn't say she hadn't given him fair warning now. She just hoped he didn't scarper too soon to have a decent conversation with her. She hadn't exactly had the most exciting day so far.
