It was odd. Usually Myu just ran about, hunted, did her stuff and went back to sleep. She didn’t really think about what she did, nor did she usually think about other wolves. It didn’t confuse her exactly, it just made her uncomfortable. It wasn’t every day the Alpha female of Falling Moon decided to stop in her tracks and think about someone from the past. Not the way back past, when it came to her family(she couldn’t even remember her parents and sister’s name anymore), but to Emyprean valley. Were they still alive? What about Josiah? Was he still walking about, and she didn’t even know it? Did Duke know? Who was it that Josiah liked.. Was it Dagger? Yes, Myu was pretty sure it was Dagger. But myu knew she was dead, someone had murdered her. Who was Dagger’s brother… Razor? Probably. Weird ass names, if you asked her. But then Razor was with Marley, the old Beta, who had pups. Her pups… God, she had too many. Wasn’t one in love with Duke’s pup? Whatshername. Isis… Eris… Iris! Far too kind for Myu’s liking, and she would only admit to herself that she didn’t like her.
Of course she wouldn’t like her. Honestly, the only wolf Myu did like was Duke, and did he even count? No, yes, he did. Blinking rapidly, Myu took in a sharp breath. There was a kick in her stomach, and she glared at it. Okay, so it wasn’t her stomach that held her future pups, but it was as good as. Carrying these idiots about was troublesome, and they damn well better appreciate her, even if they’d be too young to understand the fact that Myu suffered a whole lot for them. Alright, so taking on a moment of pain when giving birth to them, as well as being extremely hungry didn’t seem like much now that Myu thought about it(being the tough girl she was, obv.), but she liked appreciation.
Looking about the small clearing, suddenly feeling rather wary of her open position, Myu sat down. The idea of being a parent was looming, coming closer and closer until it was no longer an idea. It would become reality. She sighed heavily. Even though Myu detested questioning herself, she wondered if she could handle this. Straightening up, Myu snorted at herself. Of course she could handle this. Myu would be a sufficient mother, despite cursing her children a lot.

Duke knew, probably better than a lot of wolves, that Myu was perfectly capable of looking after herself. That was one of the reasons he'd had no hesitations about offering her the position as Alpha- despite his own feelings. She's always been a hell of a lot tougher than most females, even most Moons females. She'd never been vulnerable, never been weak, and had always been a match for any male.
Today, this year, was different. Not only was Myu his in any sense of the word, but she was carrying however many pups which were also his. She was an easy target, no matter how tough she was normally she could not escape the fact that she would most likely lose if she had to fight someone. Duke was not wiling to lose her, and his future pups.
So when he caught her scent and the trail it led out of their land, out of safety, his calculated lumbering developed into purposeful strides and he followed the scent. Upon finding her, a deep rumbling and relieved growl rumbled from within his chest.
"Myu," he greeted her, walking forwards and nuzzling into her neck slightly before standing back and appraising her with his hard, dark eyes. "Do you mind not disappearing into No Man's Land when you're in... your current state?"
He paused a moment, watching to see her reaction to his demanding and dark husky voice, and his frown at her behaviour.
"How have you been?" he asked gruffly.

It hadn’t really occurred to her that there would be too much danger out here. Only when she heard foot steps did she think an enemy was coming, and she had no way of defending herself because of the runts. Looking round, her tense shoulders relaxed when she saw and heard Duke. So it was only him stalking her. Lovely. A smile crept to her lips when he nuzzled into her neck, and she returned the loving gesture before looking him in the eyes, unafraid. Once he said her name, she suddenly felt like a giddy pup getting into trouble. Woops.
She was tempted to say she could handle herself, but that would be a blatant lie. She’d probably harm Duke’s pups if she tried to run, too. Sighing a bit, she nodded. “Alright.” she agreed, but wasn’t up to saying sorry. He should just be thankful he found her like this, and not ripped to shreds under some tree trunk. What a disgusting thought. Myu frowned back at him for a moment, but couldn’t hold it. He was the first wolf that could actually make her smile. But it was a small smile.
“I’ve been… Okay.” the female replied, thinking about herself. Nothing interesting had happened to her, apart from that bump in with the two males. But she didn’t need to tell Duke about that. Yet. “And you?”
