I don't want to believe you When you tell me that it'll be okay Yeah I try to believe you But I don't. When you say that it's gonna be It always turns out to be a different way I try to believe you Not today.
Rose hadn't felt this lost in a long time. She always had purpose, always, and she was beginning to wonder why she needed that. Some wolves just threw caution to the wind and lived their lives for themselves. That sounded like a better idea than what Rose did- giving her heart, her soul and her mind to another wolf just to help them.
When you gave everything like that, you just gave others the opportunity to break you. She'd done it with Raiden, and he hadn't survived the earthquake, leaving her mateless and broken hearted. She'd done it with her father, and then he'd gone and fallen for Myu.
It made her so angry, but she was too tired to feel her blood boiling this time. She'd done it with Justyn as well, but she wasn't scared for herself anymore. She was scared she'd be the one to hurt him somehow.
Everything was so complicated. And now one of her sons, Bion, happened to be alive and well. He was roaming around the Stars land with amnesia, not a clue that his mother was actually here. It hurt, but it was a happy kind of pain, because it meant that he was alive and thriving. Did it matter if he didn't know her? At least he was out there. Maybe he'd remember her someday.
Rose pushed her paws further into the mountainside, climbing up. The air was hot with the natural springs, throwing steam into the air. Seeing as it was an unusually cool night -Autumn must be on its way- Rose was glad for the heat. The moon illuminated everything in its beautiful and eerie silver light as Rose sat by the edge of a spring, deep in thought in the dead of night.

Walking around here, Luya found, was very therapeutic. Despite the anything but glamorous name, Bakedmud Mountain was one of her favourite places to come, as the steam and general warmth of the area relaxed her. Normally a very down-to-earth and realistic character, Luya grew very uncomfortable when things grew colder. She did her best to hide it, though - looking weak in front of others was definitely not worth doing. She knew that all too well, and winced slightly as memories of her haunting past flooded back. But she was fine now, the steam was all around her, and as her breathing rate returned to normally, a slow, wide smirk stretched across her lips. Rose was here.
Luya didn't like any other wolves, and she didn't make an exception for the Alpha's daughter. She wasn't stupid, though, and knew that if she went too far today, it wouldn't just be the wolf in front of her she was dealing with. She walked over, her stride slow and calm, looking almost sly. As she came up behind the seated animal, careful not to get too close, she almost whispered in her ear, "Looking a little .. agitated aren't we, Rose, darling?" She said, giving each word unnecessary exaggeration and letting each letter slide like black silk off her tongue. She was in her element now, and she stalked in front of Rose and circled her, not threateningly, but letting her tail float past Rose's nose in oh - such a tantalizing manner.
The female stopped after the one circle, sitting in a carefully chosen position - to the side and a little behind Rose. Somehow, she found this helped to draw out the most entertaining reactions from her 'prey'. The softly coloured Luya was not up to much in a fight - she had a deep-set hatred for physical violence - and so she relied on her speed to get her away from any tricky situations. Witnessing a fight, the female wouldn't know what to do. Her powers of repression were hardly well known, but she couldn't stand by and watch. No, she'd probably do the thing she did every time things got too hot for her - run.
But you couldn't run from the past, no matter how fast you went.

The very last thing Rose wanted was Luya to turn up. She happened to be mostly typical Falling Moon- but unlike Rose, Luya didn't physically fight. Whatever had screwed her up in the head before she arrived in Caden Valley had made her avoid all physical fights.
Rose could fight, viciously when needed, but she preferred to run as well. Luya could run all she wanted, but Rose had all the time in the world to follow her. Let's see how she fared then, sticking her tail up Rose's nose just to irritate her.
Rose turned so she didn't have her back to the other wolf, narrowing her cool glare on her. Despite the hot air, her tone was icy and so calm it was threatening. "I'm always agitated, sweetie, I'm a Falling Moons wolf," she replied matter-of-factly, the affectionate term in the middle wholly sarcastic. "Why don't you do us all some good and go jump off the waterfall?"

The dark-shaded canine trotted along a path curving across the mountainside, following a cliff that was parallel to the dirt track. The cliff could hardly be considered that - the drop was hardly five feet, a simple bound for any wolf, but this wolf in particular didn't care in the slightest. He was intent on his jog, the steam from the hot springs blowing in his face; a mist hardly shrouding the shadow that flitted through the bare land.
His nose quivered as the breeze blew fresh scents towards him - two females of the Moons. He recognized the scent of Luya and Rose, and wondered why these two would be together, out here. Eyes sparkling brightly, his ears swivelled, picking up the sounds of their voices, the tone almost sickeningly sweet.
"Hmm, maybe I'll drop in," Diego murmured under his breath, and his stride lengthened, the silver in his pelt rippling like a stream amid the dark grey fur. He altered course, leaping the "cliff" and making his way towards the she-wolves.
As he neared the two, his pace slowed and his shaggy tail twitched. "Evening; Rose, Luya" he barked in a light, polite voice, giving a tiny nod of his head in greeting. A smirk pulled at his maw but he brushed it away as he seated himself, his claws clutching the cool earth underpaw. "What has the both of you in such a ... tizzy?" His words were layered with a thin seasoning of sarcasm, and his ocean blue eyes had a bit of a sadistic twinkle to them.
Silently, he wondered if maybe he was being a bit harsh - Rose didn't look in the mood for teasing, but then again, she usually wasn't - though he didn't stop the words from coming from his maw. Maybe it was Luya's presence in the clearing that triggered this but he doubted it; with or without her, Diego wouldn't have dug up his old, charismatic self anyways. He thought he felt a pang of resentment for losing himself, but he ignored it - as always.

Oh joy of joys, has there been some miscommunication up here? Does everyone think I'm throwing a bloody party?! Rose thought sourly to herself, glaring at Diego as he walked up. Having thrown herself so thoroughly into pack affairs when they arrived here, she'd picked up that Diego absolutely loathed spending time with other males unless absolutely necessary. Still, he rarely talked to females either.
"So it's finally decided to speak up?" she drawled sarcastically back at him. "I suppose we should feel privileged."
She turned her glare back to Luya. For a moment, she wondered why none of this pack got along. Then she realised it wasn't in their nature to get along- the Moons lands were a sort of sanctuary for crazy and dangerous wolves who wanted to be in a pack but couldn't possibly function in a normal one. And Rose had been born into it. How depressing.

"Now, now, Rose" Diego drawled right back, "don't feel so special." His eyes darkened, losing the sadistic twinkle, though his tone was none-the-less sarcastic. "A rabbit recieved a few well-earned words earlier today - you're not the first to hear me speak."
The shadowed wolf almost rolled his eyes, but held back; instead, he let a small smile flit across his visage. His tail twitched, before he curled it by his side. As Rose turned to glower at Luya, dark brown eyes glaring daggers at the sandy-hued she-wolf, he let his gaze travel as well.
They flickered to Luya for the slightest moment before sliding past her to gaze at a natural spring several wolf-lengths away. As he watched, he kept his peripheral vision on the tense wolves in front of him, noting each tail twitch and each flick of the ear. He wanted to be out of there come any trouble.
A strong wind blew around the three wolves, before dying away, leaving the air to shimmer almost magically beneath the half moon.

It was not unusual for Luya to be silent - especially while listening to others' heated discussions. But as the conversation dwindled, she felt hurried to say something, make a statement. "The conversation has really started looking up since you arrived," She said to Diego, her voice cooler and calmer than she felt. She was glad for this, and shifted slightly so both of the wolves were clearly in her view. Her tail flicked to the side and she raised her brows at the newcomer's oh-so-charming personality. It was different from most, she granted, and he would probably make things a lot more interesting around here, which she was glad of, as right now she wasn't in the mood to perform any show-stopping stunts. Still, his presence made her a little uneasy - old wounds, one might say.
"We were just discussing jumping off a waterfall," The brown and tan female continued airily. "Rose brought it up - probably considering the idea." Luya smiled unhelpfully at the wolf she was taunting, though keeping one eye on the male - she didn't want to be a 'victim' in this messy affair. "Mind you, if I were hated by almost everyone I met," She continued, flashing another dazzling, demonic smile at Rose, and blinked slowly, savoring every moment of torturing the other female. She directed her gaze at Diego, slow and menacing, right in the eyes, then back at Rose. "I might consider the idea myself."
Seeming satisfied with her input to the flourishing conversation, Luya sat back and waited for the inevitable response.
Don't sit back and watch life fly 'Cos one day it might roll on by

Rose sighed, thoroughly bored with Luya. Were her conversations always so stupid and shallow? Rose was hardly hated by everyone she met. The majority, yes, but not everyone. That was statement of fact, in Rose's head.
She turned her strangely icy dark eyes on the other female.
"Luya, do you happen to have any redeeming qualities? As far as I'm aware, you're completely and utterly useless. A total waste of wolf," Rose's tone was dry and almost conversational, hence adding to the sarcasm. "Perhaps suicide would be your forté."
She continued to narrow her glare on Luya.
"I suggest you go and try it out. If it turns out to be a very painful death, well, nobody would really miss you, now would they?"

Diego dipped his head at Luya's comment, his tail flicking as if to say, "I try," though he didn't bother to reply. He kept quiet, meeting Luya's gaze before they both turned to look at Rose.
The subject at hand stirred something within him; the hint of a memory, the feeling of sorrow for a she-wolf he had known...
But he pushed that away, not wanting to break apart in front of these two menancing members of the Falling Moons. He would save those emotions for later, when - no, if - he ever let it show itself.
As Rose took a shot at Luya, Diego sighed under his breath, his midnight-hued eyes growing harder as he fought the battle within himself. Of course, he won, and he lifted his muzzle almost truimphantly.
He thought of changing the subject, smoothly guiding the she-wolfs into talk of lighter thoughts, but then thought better of it. Luya and Rose didn't seem the type to settle for anything near friendliness. Plus, it might show weakness, and heavens knows that one of them might pick up on it and dangle it over his head. He didn't want that.
So, instead, Diego grinned doggily.
"Well, all this talk of suicide and waterfalls has left me quite bored. I think I'll take a quick dip in the hot springs. If one of you wants to join - well, we'll see about that." The dark grey wolf, streaked with silver, nodded to the two she-wolfs, before rising to his paws and trotting off, tail waving in farewell.
ooc;; if the hot springs are too hot for a swim, sorry. Let me know, and then i'll edit this later. XD
