taken to the floor with the reach to the sky i loosen my tie, i loosen my tie locking down the door, with the rhythm and rhyme i loosen my tie, i loosen my tie trying to recall what you want me to say i shake it your way, i shake it your way counting on the night for a beautiful day i shake it your way, i shake it your way I don't even know if they're still alive. A bulky figure lay by the river, as it rippled gently past. The sky was a dark inky black, the moon waxing high in the sky accompanied by the shy twinkling of the stars. The tree's rattled gently in the wind, apart from that and the soft gurgling of the water there was silence. The male breathed out a heavy sigh, watching his wavering reflection with far-away eyes, his bi coloured eyes barely noticed the wolf that stared back, his mind was dwelling on the blury memories of his family.
His eyes swelled with tears, but he swallowed them down and refused to let them leave the corner of his eyes. He breathed out shakily, laying his maw gently on his paws, tilting his head to one side and focusing on the forest on the other side of the river.
and i say, you can't get enough now you can't get enough He couldn't smell them. Any of them. The scents at the river were too weak to make out whether anyone he knew had been here. With a frown, he rolled onto his back, the cold water tickling the back of his head. He gazed up at the night's sky, the moon glared down brightly, but he still found the stars more beautiful for some reason. In a way, he envied them. They were all together, and if they were on their own they wouldn't shine as bright. Glancing down at the tree's, he wondered what he was even doing here.
His mother was out there, somewhere in no mans land, but all he could think about was whether he belonged with her. This was falling moon, thats all he knew. Was Duke still alpha? Had Duke even survived? He hoped someone would save him soon. He hated feeling torn.
given a chance i wanna be somebody if for one dance i wanna be somebody open the door it's gonna make you love me facing the door i wanna be somebody [/size][/blockquote][/b] ooc// please can this be family only (: ie, duke and his family (;

There was a soft thud-thud of a heavy set wolf moving through the trees and bracken. Duke liked the Moon Stream. If he had been any less brutish, he would actually call it pretty. But that word was reserved for wooing faes, on the next-to-no occasions when that happened. Still, he liked Moon Stream.
A strange scent entered his nose as he neared the stream, twigs cracking beneath his paws. His ears flickered and he frowned in confusion. How could he recognise a scent that he did not recognise? Young, male, familiar... and yet he couldn't place it.
It was only as he broke through the line of bushes and stepped into the waters between his land and No Man's Land that he spotted Taku. It took him a moment, but then he placed the odd coloured wolf's features and a low growl of surprise shook him. Iris's son, Duke's grandson, was only a few feet from him. He froze in the middle of the lake in confusion. Had so much of his family secretly survived?

The steady thud-thud of his heart boomed in his ears, his eyes seemed emotionless, as he stared into an upside-down forest in the moon lands. He was deep in thought, blinking only when his sub concious saw fit. The forest seemed so silent, as if there was no life there at all, besides the occasionally lonely owl. It certainly seemed like there were no wolves beside himself.
He suddenly found himself wishing he hadn't even come here. He really didn't need to dig at memories he'd tried to forget. Heaving his great ribs into a sigh, he was about to get up and walk away, when he heard the sound of paw steps, and the clumsy snap of twigs. Hauling himself up he quickly turned, brow furrowed, ready for whoever...or whatever emerged from the bushes.
As the black and white bear of a wolf emerged, Taku's heart seemed to come to a complete stop. He stood and stared at the wolf, the wolf who's vagueley familiar features pained him to look at. They reminded him of Rose and Tala, memories of his siblings and the vast family that had once surrounded him came crashing down upon him, pain and happiness swelling in his heart. For a few moments he stared, thoughts whizzing past behind his eyes. Finally he managed a strangled mutter. 'Duke...?'

Iris was lonely. Well, it was one of the bad sides of being a loner, but she was especially lonely today. She felt like she needed to see a member of her family, feeling a bit protective of Taku ever since the disaster. Iris wondered how his son was doing, hardly reminded of Caerwyn whenever she thought of him now. She smiled as she travelled through the forest, attempting to catch the familiar scent. Ears swivelling for any sound, she felt calm and wasn’t very alert. Her mind was on set on one thing, finding Taku. She was pretty sure he wouldn’t be in any trouble, so stayed at a leisurely pace.
Her ears twitched at the sound of rushing water, and her heart skipped a beat. She knew she was nearing Falling Moon territory. Was her father still alive? Had another pack member survived and stated themselves alpha? If so, they’d have to answer to Iris. Even if she wasn’t the meanest of wolves, she was the heiress, and surely she should be the Alpha female? Iris didn’t really know how the hierarchy worked, so she put it to the back of her mind. Stopping by the rushing water, she gazed at it before looking up, immediately spotting Taku. She grinned, opening her mouth to call his name, but then she seen him.
Her heart skipped a few beats, goosebumps ran along her spine and her eyes grew wide. She stared at Duke, mouth still partially open and she looked similar to a goldfish. Finally Iris clamped her jaw shut, gulping. Was this real? Seeing as Taku murmured his grandfather’s name, she knew it was. Immediately Iris dived into the water, rushing towards her father. Iris almost attempted to tackle him, but quickly decided against it and suddenly slowed her pace, stopping a few rabbit-lengths away from him. “dad?” she asked, as if suspicious, “You’re… You’re alive! You’re here.” She sounded thankful, and her heart swelled.
