The sky was dark. Clouds covered the stars and part of the full moon, but it still managed to shine through. It lit up the valley, an ally to any late-nighters attempting to find their way to their dens. But some wolves didn’t sleep at nights. Luka wasn’t one to stay up every night, but there were times when he wanted to just stay awake and look at the stars. They didn’t mean anything to him, they were just pretty. Sometimes he could just stare at them all night, and that’s what he planned to do this night. If they came into view.
Luka wandered to the best place he could think of that gave the best view of the sky. He felt a bit hopeful, but knew it probably wasn’t going to happen. Well, if it didn’t, he would just have a nice open space to sleep in. It was the best place to find a bit of a cool spot, considering the rest of it was way too hot and uncomfortable. Luka hated weather like this, but he also hated snow. He couldn’t wait for Autumn. It was just beautiful. And he wasn’t swayed by many things, so that was saying something.
He walked into the clearing, grass tickling his paws, and he lay down in the centre. He put his head on his paws, then slowly rolled onto his back so he could stare at the sky. Gazing up at the cloudiness, Luka sighed heavily, depressed. There were going to be no stars tonight, that’s for sure. He gazed at the dark grey clouds bitterly, and then rolled over onto his side, ear twitching. It was a bit too silent, but he was comfortable. He rested his head on the grass, closing his eyes.

Ritbant prowled through the night, unable to sleep for the fifth night in a row. His mind roamed the land restlessly, separated from his physical body. He was haunted by nightmares, and he was unable to sleep deeply, something he desperately needed. He idly wondered if he was going mad, like his mother Rima after she had lost her mate. How ironic. He, who had separated himself from the memory of his family, was going to die raving mad. That was if the nightmares persisted, and he was driven mad by lack of sleep. He had been able to catnap, as it were, but not get a good, long sleep. His paws padded silently as he ruminated, carrying him where they would. His mind was not on the night, but on the stars that the clouds covered. More specifically, on the moon. He loved looking at the moon, it was calming in times of stress.
Rit almost ran into a wolf who was on the grass. He caught himself, slowly pulled himself out of the instinctual fighting pose, but kept on alert. He could tell that the wolf was awake. Rit was puzzled, his mind completely on the present. The wolf had just lain down in the middle of the ground.

Luka was attempting to enjoy the cold wind. He snorted when grass tickled his nose, and he opened his eyes slowly. He could smell another wolf, someone very close, and he knew his little rest was over. He sighed heavily and stayed still, yawning a bit. “What do you want?” he asked calmly, not bothering to look up at whoever it was. Honestly, a wolf couldn’t get to sleep in a huge clearing that was open to anyone without disturbance. He’d just have to go back to his ‘den’ later on. Hehehe. It wasn’t much of a den, more like a root lifted from the ground. It was horrible and muddy, but it was home for Luka. For now.
ooc| Museless.

Rit looked in consternation at the other wolf, but then ignored his weird position. "I don't want anything. And what are you doing in the middle of the night flat on your back in a clearing?" There was no threat, just curiosity. He overlooked the fact that he was out this late as well. He leaned into the wind, his red golden ear swaying with the cold breeze, one that he loved to revel in. His black ear stood straight. His muscles were relaxed, but able to be on the move in less than an instant. His green eyes viewed the stranger with frank curiosity, but with wariness as well.
