Silence. Absolute stillness. A dead wind didn't even dare to whisper through the trees. The absolute greenness of the forest remained untouched, even the weak, autumn light that filtered through the forest's canopy had a verdant hue, as if the air was sickly. There was no sound of bird song or other animals, and only one, lonely deer could be seen. It picked its way forlornly through the undergrowth, only a minimal spark of life in it's eyes.
Lit by fear however, the spark suddenly grew, and the deer's panicked hooves carried it away, veering off in one direction and then anyother in order to escape the invisible death that was hunting it. Like bullets now, feet thundered across the forest floor, sending gem-coloured leaves flying up around it, in it's panic. Red, a warning signal.
And then nothing. The deer was wrestled to the floor, it's ever so breakable neck trapped in iron jaws. Crouched over the deer in a position so as to avoid dangerous, flailing hooves, a wolf bit down with sudden viciousness. In one moment the creature's life was severed, and the wolf felt a rush of satisfaction shudder through him. He wasn't hungry, much - Kinaki had simply found a new pleasure in killing things.
Perhaps Kinaki found joy in such unneccesary, cruel behaviour because it was nice for him to know that other creatures could feel pain too. By inflicting wounds upon others, he knew that it was not only himself who had to suffer. And since he couldn't be bothered with words anymore, actions would have to make do instead. There was a dangerous wolf in No Man's Land, in more ways than one.

Damn he was hungry. He stomach growled angrily, and it felt to him like it was eating itself. Annoyed, he stumbled through the trees toward the smell of blood, not caring what it was or who it belonged to. The forest was stangely silent, but he didn't notice, he was too intent on finding the dead deer.
Bursting through the bushes, he barely even noticed the male at first. He eyed up the heap of deer on the floor, before looking up darkly at Kinaki. Snorting, he padded slowly toward the deer and the wolf, before stopping and sitting down 'Are you going to eat that?' he asked, almost spitefully, not in any mood for friendly conversation, Taku couldn't be bothered with putting that pretend smile on his face.
