One day I'll fly away Leave all this to yesterday Why live life from dream to dream And dread the day when dreaming ends The sun was covered by clouds, and a strong wind picked up, sending a signal to any prey near by that a wolf was coming. Her scent was strong, but it smelled of nothing in particular. There was certainly Falling Moon, but that was faint, different odours of flowers and a very, very faint scent of Dancing Stars. The female didn’t mind about the disappearing prey, she wasn’t hungry. She made her way towards the Cliffside, or moreso to the top of the waterfall. She loved the view from up there, it was spectacular, even better on a sunny day. It was just a shame the sun wasn’t out.
Iris stopped at the top, making sure not to go too close to the edge. What would happen if she did? She would fall and drown. Gazing down at the water, Iris frowned, ears twitching. What if she did? Well, not jump, she meant leave. If she left Caden Valley, would she feel better? Something about being near Falling Moon and Dancing Stars made her feel like ghosts were near her, everywhere. Her children, Caerwyn, her family, everyone. Iris felt guilty about it, even if she shouldn’t. She hadn’t done anything, she hadn’t killed anyone(not that she could remember) and she wanted to keep it that way. Would she have to leave to get rid of these nightmares she sometimes had?
No. Iris couldn’t leave. That would be unfair on Taku and perhaps the rest of her family. She knew they would be upset, but would they really miss her that much? As much as she would miss them? Probably not, Iris had a lot of emotions and love for them. She also had a lot of time to miss them. Iris backed up slightly, sitting down slowly and smiled to herself. Of course she wouldn’t leave, she could sacrifice a few nights for her family.

Two reddish-brown eyes watched Iris as she made herself comfortable on the cliff's edge. They were crinkled by the smile that was on Ryoker's face as she watched the beautiful female stare down at the water, like she was contemplating something. Did she want to jump? Clearly she wasn't brave enough to do something like that. The way she kept distance between herself and the edge meant that she was very cautious of the possibility of falling. Not only that, but she didn't look like the suicide type. The glaze in her eye was soft, not wistful or painful. She was no mary-sue.
Walking calmly forward until his silver pelt would be noticeable in the corner of Iris's eye, the loner kept his smirk intact as he sat back on his haunches. She looked like she was in such deep thought, maybe it would be fun to play a little game with her. But first of all, he needed to be noticed by the stranger. In the front of his twisted mind, Ryoker wondered how long it would take with her mind so clouded.

Iris’ ear twitched, but not at the sound of the stranger. It was because a bird had begun to sing, and she looked round at it, taken out of her little daydream. But then the bird was what let her notice something at the corner of her eye, and she quickly whipped her head round to look at Ryoker, tilting her head to the right and leaning forward curiously. “Hello.” she said softly, slowly getting to her feet again. Iris wasn’t exactly cautious or suspicious, she wasn’t the suspicious type, but was just caught off by surprise.
She wondered who he was, and what kind of wolf she was. Iris couldn’t get any particular scent off of him, so she guessed he was a loner. Not suited for any pack, just like herself. She smiled slightly at the thought of not being alone, even if she knew she wasn’t. It was always comforting for her to know that there was one more friend she could make without causing any trouble with her family. Iris always felt a bit locked away with a dad like Duke, feeling like she couldn’t make friends with Dancing Stars without being disappointed in.
But Ryoker wasn’t a Dancing Star, so it was all fine. "Who are you?"

A friendly little pretty, wasn't she? Perhaps too softspoken for her good. Ryoker could tell right now that she would likely be an easy wolf to roll over. Maybe she would trust any scraggly stranger that came walking up to her with a knowing smile. He loved it when his job was made easy. With a quick wag of his tail, Ryoker decided to match up the pleasantries with Iris's standards.
"Who am I? I'm sure you'd be pleased ta know." Standing up straight and comfortably, Ryoker gave the impression that he was compeltely civilized and looking for nothing but a friend. Maybe this little female would get comfortable enough to explain her family life to him... He hadn't had fun in a while. Still smiling, he continued on with his statement. "My name is not one to forget. I'm called Ezron."
The lie wasn't really a lie to Ryoker, so it easily slid over his tongue unsuspiciously. He had used this alias so many other times that sometimes he would even develop a different personality for "Ezron".
Today, Ezron will be a prince charming.

Iris was a very, very trusting character. It was horrible for her in the end, but she just couldn’t help it, she believed in second chances, and third chances, and fourth chances… God, she would never admit this to anyone, but if she had the chance, she would gladly show Caerwyn the pups before the earthquake, and give him a chance to say sorry and make it up to her. No matter what, he was still the Caerywn she had fell ‘in love’ with. Iris threw that word about way too often for her own good.
She stared at him, her small, innocent smile on her face. You would never have guessed she had a deranged father, dead mother and siblings and a very odd past. Iris had forced herself to put that all past her, to learn to love everyone and be able to protect anyone she met. But how could she protect someone if she didn’t know how to fight properly? Words always worked in Iris’ mind, but in the real world, it was usually tooth and claw that won. Iris could fight of course, she was just a very scared female when it came to that.
“I’ll be sure not to forget it, Ezron.” Ezron was such a beautiful name in Iris’ opinion, it was just a shame the wolf in front of her was a complete fake. He seemed civilized enough, a very proud wolf perhaps by the way he was standing. Tilting her head to the side slightly, Iris glanced round at the waterfall, listening to the sound of rushing water. It calmed her down, and she officially made this her favourite spot in Caden Valley. Looking back at Ezron, Iris dipped her head a bit.
“My name’s Iris.” she introduced herself, her voice very soft as usual, “Pleasure to meet you, I’m sure.”

"Iris," he repeated.
Ryoker kept things super casual, so Iris would be as comfortable as possible while communicating with him. Letting his tongue dangle at the corner of his jaw, he stretched his front paws forward and began to pull the muscles in his back, giving even his hindlegs a good pull.
"Ahhhh. The wet weather is making my joints ache," he complained as he sat back on his rump. Several possible conversation passed through his theoretical mind and he quickly picked one of them to follow. "Sometimes I regret choosing the life of a loner. Nobody to cuddle with when you're drifting off to sleep."
He lifted a forepaw and nipped at a flea for a few seconds before looking back at the pretty she-wolf. "You're a loner too, aren't you? What do you think? Sure does get lonely."
