Taya took a deep breath, feeling her blood begin to calm down, but she couldn't wipe her small smile off of her face. She tried to hide it a little; she must look so stupidly childish, grinning at nothing now that their romping was over. It was so hard for her to control her emotions, though, when they reached their peak heights - and right now, Taya was simply giddy!
Roan had cheered up within minutes of company, and that made her happy. He must deserve to smile after what happened to him. All these Empyrean wolves, they had lived through some sort of horror.
Still lying in the grass, Taya watched Roan as he lifted his gaze to the sky, and so she immediately followed his lead. There was sunshine and it was no longer unbearably hot, so it was nice.
The tawny female gave a long, relaxed yawn, and then studied her acquaintance's face with interest. "What are you thinking about now?"

Roan wasn’t really thinking about anything. Well, apart from his leg, and he was sure she wouldn’t want to hear about his sob story. He looked at her when she asked, and he shrugged, shaking his head slightly. He looked back at the sky again. “Nothing, really.” he said calmly, looking at her again with an almost confused look, “What should I be thinking?” He didn’t know why he asked that. He didn’t need someone to tell him what he was thinking or going to do, did he? Sometimes Roan felt like he did, and it seemed that this was one of this times. He gazed at Taya almost pitifully, waiting for her honest answer.
He slowly lay down on his stomach again, getting comfy. He didn’t mind if Taya wanted to play-fight again, but he really couldn’t be up to it any more. He looked at her again, still waiting. He smiled a bit to show he was still happy, but not in the way that he was joking about his question.

Taya was trying to make small talk like usual, although with the dreamy look on Roan's face, she had been genuinely curious as to what he could possibly be thinking. Although, now she realized that the random question might have gotten him off-track.
Smiling apologetically, the white and brown Stars femme replied, "I don't know, I didn't mean it like that. It's just hard for me to read your face sometimes. I'm not necessarily an expert at body language!"
She chuckled and looked back up at the clouds, although it was obvious that her own mind wasn't focusing.
"Maybe... You should be thinking about hanging out with me more often! Because not a lot of wolves put up with my chatter like you do."

He smiled kindly, almost fatherly, at Taya when she said she wasn’t an expert at reading body language. It really depended on Roan’s day. Sometimes he could read others like a book, other times he just… Couldn’t. This was one of those days. He gazed at Taya, tilting his head to the right in a childish manner, but his smile suddenly returned, the pain in his leg dying away slowly. He let her chuckle echo in his mind, and he grinned. He liked Taya, there was nothing wrong with her. Roan thought about it, and still couldn’t see any faults. She was a very good pup-sitter that way.
“I am thinking about that now.” Roan said, “I don’t see any reason not to be around you. Chatter is a lovely thing, especially with a bright soul such as yourself.” Roan smiled at her, not knowing it was more of a charming smile than a fatherly one. His ear twitched as the returning butterfly attempted to rest on it, and it twirled into the air and flew towards Taya’s general direction. He watched it, but looked back at Taya. “This pack's lucky to have you to lift their spirits."

That was really the first time that Taya felt appreciated for being a part of Dancing Stars. Until now, she hadn't really made any friends and it seemed like nobody truly knew who she was on the inside. But Roan was a bit similar to Taya, so it looked like she had found somebody to really relate to.
"Well, that's certainly the first time I've ever had someone say that to me," she explained to the Stars wolf with a grateful smile. "Thanks for that!"
Her tail swished in the grass and caused a few grasshoppers to flee the area. {Now it's my turn for a crappy post ^-^ SORRY <3}

Roan suddenly felt very proud of himself. He had managed to make someone’s day, it seemed, and all with a few simple words. Simple words, but the truth. Roan smiled at Taya, tail wagging slowly, and he was happy himself now. He hadn’t managed to make someone else happy for a while now. Whenever he tried, they either faked it, found something better immediately or refused his words or gift altogether. It was partially the reason why he had attempted to go anti-social, believing he wouldn’t be able to make anyone happy, but Taya had proved him wrong.
He straightened up slightly, but quickly frowned. First time? Ever? He was so surprised to hear that, and almost felt sorry for Taya. No, there was no almost about it. He did feel sorry for her. “Are you serious? That’s very surprising.” he said in awe, really. Wow. He was still frowning, but quickly fixed it to a no emotion whatsoever, although his eyes were sparkling with happiness.
He didn't feel so lonely anymore, and that made him feel special. The only thing that was worrying him was that his leg was still sore, even if it wasn't as sore as before.
