Saber walked slowly through the beautiful forest, staring up at the trees. Ever since she was a pup, this forest fascinated her. She couldn't shake the beauty of the forest. A bird chirped in a nearby tree, and Saber looked in it's direction. Huh, look at that, it's low enough to catch Saber thought, licking her muzzle. Hoping the bird hadn't seen her, Saber crouched low and made her way to the bird. When she was only a good foot and a half from the branch the bird was on, Saber leapt. Saber flew through the air towards the tree branch, the bird let out a shriek of terror and flapped away. Saber landed on the ground with a thump, spitting out leaves and feathers. A growl escaped her throught. "Stupid Bird!" She muttered, looking around to see if anyone had seen her epic fail.

Oberon had felt his stomach grumbling recently as well. He was sure that his appetite had enhanced since Caden had gone, and he assumed that it was because he was growing eager for a fight. To sink his teeth into some prey did him some good, got rid of some nervous and excitable energy. So when he stumbled across Saber and caught the end of her unsuccessful hunt, he felt a little of her pain, but couldn't help a chuckle.
"I gave up with birds a while ago," he called out, smiling as he padded into view. He gave her enough space to look him over and assess his purpose, although his pose was not subordinate in any way. He tended to treat his packmates like equals straight off the bat. "They're tricky. Better luck next time, eh?"

Saber stared for a moment, then decided to let it go. As always, she wasn't very comfortable talking with others, but she did manage a nod. "Yeah" She answered, licking some dirt off her chest, making it look as if she never fell. Just in case anyone else comes she thought. Sitting, she decided to humour Oberon, and talk for a while. A rabbit stood a few feet away with it's little nose twitching. Saber looked to Oberon, wondering if he saw it too, perhaps he'd like to take the kill. She could sense his hunger growing. So she sat agian, motioning for him to take the kill...

Oberon watched Saber curiously, seeing her eyes dart to the rabbit nearby. It wouldn't last there very long. As hungry as he was, or even she was, it would see them or catch their scent and run. Rabbits weren't stupid. He watched it a little, wondering when it would realise that it was in very real danger of losing its life and run.
The bronze wolf knew that Saber had been in the pack since birth, but he hadn't even spoken much to her. He wondered if she knew who he was. After all, he'd been around for a fair time himself. She didn't seem especially talkative, but he gathered that this was just part of her charm.
He decided to sit, relaxing back onto his haunches and watching her. Now that he'd happened upon this social interaction he didn't see any reason to leave. But he decided to leave the next topic of conversation up to her, ears flicking back and forth to catch the surrounding sounds as he waited.

Saber respected Oberon's decision, and nodded slightly. Knowing that the rabbit wouldn't be there long, she acted quickly, slinking towards the more shadowy side so she could creep on the rabbit with more ease. When she could practically just reach out and bite the rabbit, she pounced. Even though rabbits weren't idiots, this one apparently wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed. She killed it with a swift bite to the neck, and dragged it to Oberon who sat watching her. She placed the rabbit in front of him, and stepped back. "Here, you need it more than me" Saber told him with a slight shrug. She sat and let him eat.

Oberon frowned a little, wondering how she'd known that he was hungry. He took a bite, feeding gladly, but left half the carcass.
"We can share," he reminded her, nosing the remainders towards her. Blood speckled his muzzle and he licked it, glad for the snack. He then sat back again and looked at her, letting his eyes search her and then the surrounding area. He settled down onto his tummy and relaxed.
"So how are you?" he ventured. Although he did not know her very well, he was determined to get her talking. If only a little. Oberon didn't mind silence but he found this female to be a little stand off-ish. He himself enjoyed silence, but only if he felt friendly enough with the opposing wolf to share the silence.

Saber's gaze lingered on Oberon for a while, determining if he was full or just being polite. Her stomach grumbled, and she decided to take the other half. When she finished, she licked the blood off her paws, and layed down as well. She wondered how to take his question. She had never known Oberon very well, in fact, she didn't even know his name! "I guess I could say I'm okay" She answered him. She never liked to lie about stuff so she always looked deep inside to see what she REALLY felt. if she wasn't sure, her answer would come out the way it just did. She shook her head to clear her thoughts, and opened her mouth, "I'm Saber by the way." she told him, picking up the leftover meat and cached it.(buried it)

"Oberon," he replied simply, gathering that the offering of her name also held a question of his. He'd been in the pack for quite some time now, but having met no mate or having no blood relatives, he tended to keep to himself. He shook his shaggy bronze fur and yawned a little.
He ran his tongue along his lips, still tasting of hot rabbit blood, and enjoyed the reminder of his meal. With the meal sitting in his belly he felt much more at ease, ears flicking back and forth to catch the sounds of the life around them. The swaying red and gold leaves in the grand trees above them, the distant sounds of wolves running or growling to one another. It didn't seem at all as if they may be in battle soon.
"So what do you make of the Caden affair? Do you agree that we should not be wasting any more time?" he asked, genuinely curious, unafraid to voice his own opinions on the matter.
