She was on a light stroll into the main part of her packs territory to do a bit of exploring. The teenage side of her was starting to take over as her legs grew out and her paws had been looking proportional to the rest of her body lately. Saki had begun to think like a little more mature being, wanting to expand herself, learn new thing, make new friends ect.
She became a little sidetracked when she spotted the perfect resting spot however. It looked like a miniature pride rock. Her almost white form slowed to a stop as her amber eyes took in the sight of her new ‘throne.’ “I like the looks of this.” Her tail wagged lazily to and fro as she took a few steps forward and leap up onto it.
She sat back with her head held high in a light and almost properly royal type manner. She gave a quiet coo of a chuckle before laying down stretching one white paw over the other. Her dark underbelly became visible as she shifted to lazy on her side. She began to take in the view looking towards the stream when a light autumn breeze blew through her cream, white and grey speckled fur. She closed her eyes feeling the sun-warmed rock beneath her coupled with the light breeze and sound of the flowing stream. It was a peaceful moment.

Justyn felt very peaceful for the first time in a long while. All of his current troubles were still there; they popped into his mind quite often, but today, he was letting it all go. No more worrying about Caden and the intruding Stars, or about his own constant sadness. He was going to let himself be happy for once. Rose seemed to be doing so well, and Fallon had grown closer to him. Justyn's Beta duties were unchallenging as ever - Duke was growing old, but he still took charge in every pack aspect. Justyn could feel himself growing a bit older, too. He was far past his adolecense. He was three now, fully grown, in his prime.
The Deadlands were almost not distracting enough, however. It was just sand and rocks. As always, he felt his mind trailing off into tangents he didn't want to be thinking about. That old restlessness of his never would go away, most likely. He'd always be the blazing fire that had to eat everything up as it went along.
One of the rocks, as he was walking along and noticed it, seemed to remind him of a scene in his early childhood, where he stood tall and proud looking down at his three siblings. At first, the memory really took him by suprise. He had really forgotten his earliest history, how much of a care-free prankster he had been. Justyn was always the rowdiest of them all, telling wild stories that were completely false just for the sake of knowing he could scare his brothers and sister. Back then, he could blurt out jokes like a bird could sing.
He glanced up, a unconcious smile on his face, when he saw Rose standing on top of a rock. She was breathtakingly beautiful. He was about to blurt out a happy greeting, when he cut himself short, realizing that it wasn't Rose, but the Alpha's grandaughter. Rose's daughter. He watched quietly as she lay down on her belly and rolled to her side. It seemed she was ready to take a nap. Justyn almost didn't want to disturb her - she seemed so blissfully peaceful. He felt an odd mixture of nostalgia and longing. It'd be nice to be able to be as young as Saki once again and be so happy.
He hadn't grown as close to Rose's two pups as he had first predicted. They knew him well enough, he was sure, as he had spent so much time with them when they were a lot smaller. If she caught wind of him, she'd probably recognize his scent as well as she could her own mother. He hoped so, anyway. Rose's daughter was as important to him as Rose herself - Justyn knew what they meant to her.
He decided one more time against bothering her, and was getting ready to turn the other way.

In her blissful moment of peace she brought an old promise to mind. Well it wasn’t technically old, but she made it to herself after her father died. She wanted to make an impression on many wolves and be loved by them. When she was little she figured that because her family was so big that Raiden had been loved by a good number of wolves so she wanted to do as he had although she had barely any memories of him she still had understood the loss all the same. As she had grown a little she had refined and polished her promise with the knowledge she had gained. She hoped to be an influence in some way, change the world around her before her time was up. She still kept the promise fresh in her mind as a reminder of her father; she knew the next day was never a guarantee more than most her age.
She put her thoughts of past and future on sleep and opened her eyes, taking in a breath through her nose and the immediate recognition of Justyn’s scent materialized on her face. She turned her head around to see the dark male standing there; if her cheeks could’ve flushed with embarrassment they probably would have but luckily Saki had the ability of total denial.
She stood up as fast as she could to leap down from the rocks and came to a halt in front of Justyn. Her dark amber eyes shone a little as she smiled happily; she was perfectly content with acting as if nothing had happened. But she couldn’t help at laughing at herself in her mind and how childish she must have looked up there on that rock.
Besides her mother and brother, Saki really didn’t have any type of relationship with anyone else other than Justyn. Ever since she can remember Justyn has always been around. He is good for her mother and she knew that from a very early point in her life. She always liked him being around because without Raiden, Justyn had given her family friendship and she was pretty sure if she needed him he wouldn’t mind being there. “How are you Justyn?” She asked in greeting.

Justyn was turned back around the moment Saki leapt off of her station, his ears flicking at the sound of her paws thumping on the hard ground. He waited quietly as she made quick time approaching him. Her face was glowing bright with her happy smile. As always he was struck with such a fascination and disbelief that someone could be smiling so wide like that, for someone like him. Especially one as young as Saki. He often wondered how many stories of Justyn's gruesome past had reached her ears and those of the other litters. Just a year or so ago, everyone looked at him with fear or hatred, since the only genuine greeting they'd get was merciless.
What a difference now. He had just been waiting his whole life to be saved.
He blinked warmly at her hello, and smiled, wondering in the back of his mind if this was how Rose was like when she was living the first year of her life.
"Hi Saki. I'm feeling really good today," he replied in his most honest of tones. Must be the weather, making that burning fire in the pit of his stomach fade to embers. "How about you?" he asked while his rump settled onto the dirt. He was studying her form for a second. She had grown a lot. How long had it been since her birth? He was losing track now.
"You've grown like crazy. Next time I see you, you'll be bigger than me," he teased playfully. The thought never occurred to him, thanks his male gene, that such a comment to a female might be taken seriously. His eyes only shone with genuine affection.
