Personality: Tamaska is a wolf who it takes time to get to know, due to the fact that he is not the most open wolf in the world. Haunted by the ghosts of his past, he can find it hard to communicate enough to get close to others. However, do not be fooled into thinking that this brute is uncaring or weak - he is just wary.
When Tamaska lets someone in, they are in for life. A fiercely loyal and protective brute with a desire to find himself and his young daughter a place where they will be accepted, Tamaska is more than willing to put his life on the line for his friends, family and pack. Not only this, but he is a skilled fighter and a keen protector.
If you believe he is sheltered when it comes to friendship, trying to get him to feel love is harder. He has already lost two mates - the first to battle and the second to illness. His only memory of his old life, now, his darling daughter. He is not incapable of love, but he struggles to put his past behind him at times, and fears that he will upset the spirits of his past loves if he were to take another mate.
History: Tamaska was born the son of an alpha. If life had gone as his parents had planned, he would have been an alpha himself. He has two brothers, both younger, who were named Yana and Matsi. However, his first pack was destroyed when a rogue band attacked, his parents killed, and he fled. He does not know to this day what came of his two brothers.
For several moons, Tamaska - who was only nine months of age when the attack occurred - wandered alone and it was around his first birthday that he found the pack that he believed would always be his home from that day forwards. A kind and family-orientated group, who welcomed him warmly among their ranks. He joined at the same time as a female, Makoto, and even though he did not know it then, she would be his mate within several months.
It was not long after Makoto agreed to be Tamaska's mate that the war started. A rival pack had started to encroach on their lands, and they had to defend themselves. In a fierce battle, the pack was able to fight off the enemy however victory came at a price. Makoto was injured. Tamaska went with her to the caves and for several months tried to nurse her, but the wounds were infected and eventually she passed from this life. Of course, by this stage Tamaska had been missing from his pack for a while and when he sought out the alphess he believed that he would be dismissed. He believed wrongly. For showing the level of his love and commitment, he was promoted within the pack.
With a new rank came new responsibilities, and the brute took these responsibilities seriously. He patrolled the borders almost religiously, only taking time out to eat, sleep and socialise a little. It was on such a patrol he ended up in a grave fight, and while he was able to kill the intruder he himself was injured. He returned to the pack and was ordered to take rest. It was during this period of rest that he would meet his next mate - Reesha - although the relationship would take some time to grow.
Tamaska and Reesha had been assigned pup-sitting duty. Tamaska as he was not allowed to patrol, and Reesha because it was in fact her role within the pack. They were caring for two litters while their parents were busy. For one litter, their parents would be gone for a long time and only the highest ranks in the pack knew the reasons. For the other, their parents would never return as they were killed. It was in raising these two litters that Tamaska and Reesha bonded, and on the pups' first birthday that they finally became mates.
Another promotion within the pack, and Tamaska and Reesha were expecting pups of their own - although they still saw the two litters they had raised as their own in many ways. Things seemed to be going well, and although their litter consisted of only a single female pup they were a happy family. Then Reesha became ill and passed away. Tamaska could no longer bear the pain of the packlands, and so he took his young daughter and fled into the night. Two moons him and his daughter have roamed, and now they come upon a new place. A place full of promise, but also warnings. Can Tamaska settle here?
Physical Description: Tamaska is a large brute, his heavy frame wrapped in well toned muscle. Over this muscle is laid a thick, soft coat of dark grey with a black undercoat and accentuated with a paler underbelly and legs. Perhaps what stands out most on this brute is the four white paws and the flash on the tip of his tail.
Tamaska has a broad face, with dark green eyes set into the pallet. These eyes are perhaps the most open thing of the wolf, and easily give away his emotions. In the past, they have been described as 'dancing' with his feelings. They are the portal to his soul, and in them you will never find a lie.
