This Omega/Delta business always perplexed Oberon. Surely the only ranks that really mattered were Alpha and Beta? They had true responsibility and whatnot. Deltas were helpful in a hunt or battle, but surely Omegas would be the same. By deeming somebody the bottom of the food chain, surely they became a self-fulfilling prophecy. If I was deemed an unloyal pack member, I would act like one, thought Oberon in an analytical manner.
He wondered briefly why Taya did not introduce him by rank, but perhaps she felt that this nervous Silver character would be put off joining them. He did seem terribly anxious in the current situation, and incredibly formal. Still, Oberon was not a spiteful wolf, and he hoped that his natural confidence would be contagious.
"Oh I don't suppose he thought that, it looks as though he was trying to sneak away from us..." Oberon joked, his lopsided smile returning. He turned his ruddy eyes upon the other male to indicate that he meant absolutely no harm with anything he said. Oberon simply loved to keep things light in situations like this- make others laugh if possible. "No, I'm sure that now he is utterly horrified because he's going to have to tell me that I completely ruined what was a lovely solo howl. It's okay, Silver, I think I can take it!" He feigned sensitivity, sniffling and turning his head away from them both in a dramatic manner.

Nervousness seemed to push through his veins as he backed up a bit when Taya had offered her inquiries. He did think both the howls together were lovely, yet could he admit it and still maintain a macho personality? He looked a bit nervously his audits flickered to the other as he heard him also inquire about the 'singing' and/or howling.
Silver's tail drooped a bit and to try and hide it he sat back upon his haunches quickly. He stared at both of the others a few minutes before he worked up enough courage to speak, "I th-th-thought it s-sounded n-nice," he said as he continued to stare. His audits he had separated one upon each of the other two wolves whom he now knew as Taya and Oberon.

Taya was the type who felt another's awkwardness like it was her own. Though she wanted to play it off like she didn't notice Silver's nervousness, she felt herself growing hot under her own fur. The discomfort of others was so...discomforting. Instantly she couldn't stop herself from shamelessly wondering what kind of past he had. She could be nosy about those kinds of things.
Oh please, Oberon," she chuffed, looking at him with a gleam in her eyes. "I think Silver knows what he's talking about when he says he's heard a good duet." Now her confidence had returned to her as she relaxed her body and dug her toes into the cool dirt. Taya had a feeling that they could win over anybody as shy as Silver with their good humor.
"Thank you," she told the newcomer in response to his compliment. She gave him a quick look-over but was subtle about it as she pondered how different he seemed from Oberon.

Oberon smiled at Taya, although his expression did indicate that he had some doubts about whether his voice had actually enhanced her singing at all. Either way, it wasn't really all that important. Oberon was more interested in this Silver fellow, who seemed utterly and completely nervous. Oberon couldn't quite understand it. Surely, if he was so nervous around other wolves, he could just become a loner?
Then again, Oberon supposed that if he was this anxious he might be in need of protection. A kind, strong pack such as the Stars was sure to offer that to a wolf like Silver. Oberon knew nothing of him, but he wondered if he ever would at this rate. He wondered if Silver ever opened up to other wolves. He wondered if his being a Delta and Silver an Omega would hinder any chance of friendship.
Still, Oberon would never know until he could get the other male to talk some more. "Relax, friend," he chuckled slightly, maintaining eye contact so that hopefully he wouldn't feel as if he were being laughed at. "What brings you to the Stars? Apologies for not knowing you, I'm pretty useless at this pack business." He tried to let his confidence leak out gently, to encourage Silver to chill out instead of scaring him off.

The brute seemed to brighten as both others tried to encourage, yet he tried to maintain a more distant look as to not make them think he was easily won. His orbs seemed to go between the two, first to Taya and then coming to rest on Oberon. Oberon made him nervous yet his words were calming in nature. He sized him up in case he decided to go off, yet he hoped no fighting would take place.
Silver's muzzle began to open but he closed it again unsure of what all to say. He did this a few times seemingly staring blankly letting his orbs continually travel between the two. He hoped he could come up with something soon as he may have been making them impatient and he wanted to at least try and make a good impression.
He thinks a long while before he adopts a much more comfortable haunched position and sounds a bit more relaxed, "Well," he began, "I only speak the truth, although I don't look like much I do have honesty as a good quality." He decides against bragging himself up too much as to not appear arrogant. He would try to at least give them info they wanted, always putting action with his words. He hated when someone didn't show for what they were speaking.

Instant brownie point for Silver - Taya appreciated honesty, most likely above all other positive traits. Except, maybe, of course, love itself. So far Taya's opinion was forming a conventional viewpoint of Silver. Perhaps a more conservative conventional, then, say, Oberon; the Delta was also what Taya saw as orthodox, just ten times less shy.
Taya already knew of Oberon's origins. She almost would've guessed that Silver had orginated in the same place; it would seem to her that he had been through a great deal. But Oberon did not seem previously acquainted with the male, so it was unlikely, though certainly not impossible.
"Uh oh, the truth," Taya started, her eyes growing mischevious as she shifted her body and stretched her legs. "Truth is in the eye of the beholder, isn't that what some say? I should hope that your truthful feelings toward Dancing Stars are good ones. What do you think of Caden Valley, Silver?"
She pointed all of her attention towards him, hoping to draw him out a little further. Perhaps he'd be more apt to talk of his intentions. He may not easily be won over, but Taya would push it until he couldn't stand to be shy.

Oberon waited a little patiently for Silver to speak, and listened when he did. But it was Silver's lack of self-esteem that got to him slightly- his unwillingness to just accept something good about himself. It seemed as if he had to put himself down. When Oberon spoke of himself, he spoke with honesty and humour. He knew what he was good at and what he was bad at.
"Don't be so hard on yourself," he found it a little difficult to smile as he said it, instead just shrugging his shoulders. "If you're an honest wolf, then you're an honest wolf. Regardless of whether you look like one."
He found his smile again, ears folding back slightly as he listened to Taya speak. She meant beauty was in the eye of the beholder, but Oberon didn't want to seem like a know-it-all. It really didn't matter too much, so he closed his eyes and rested momentarily as he waited for Silver's response.

A torn feeling came into the heart as orbs downcast. His audits did a quick swivel and followed as the laid silently atop his skull, yet only for a minute. It was a sign he was thinking as if he wanted to give the best answer ever. He felt that he was only capable of less than enough and it hurt thinking that way.
He felt as if he didn't deserve this family especially as he began to tell the tale, "The Valley is beautiful," he said making sure not to make any eye contact, "I almost feel I do not belong here," he quickly added.
Silver lowered himself to his haunches knowing he would probably be here a while. He had lost the strength to look up because of a heavy heart.
