The silence was deadly. It spoke words that no wolf should ever hear. It was like sound had been taken in hostage from life. And one person or…animal had to find it. The sky was a dull shade of grey, which said that a storm was coming, and fast. The trees swayed silently in the wind, which was harsh and very rough. And, if you looked closely enough, you'd see a black wolf, sitting in the clearing, staring up at the grey sky. This wolf, was Lutheus, also known as Luth. His pitch black fur was dull, no shine to it. His mocha brown eyes were lifeless as he sat there, head held high. An odd marking crossed his right foreleg, zigzagged white. His build, was medium size for his age. Not a midget, but not Godzilla. His tail, was long and fluffed, soft like his fur.
Lutheus had been born in this very place, also, this is where his father had...murdered his mother, for her pup was ugly. He was that pup. His mother called him Lutheus, but his father called him ugly. They got into a fight one night and...that ended it. He killed her at the neck. Lutheus swallowed hard, blinking back tears. He had no apparent reason for being here. Just out of pure randomness. Though, it made him depressed here, but there were good moments from here. Like, his first kill. A small hare, brown and covered in mud. He grinned, wishing he was back to days like that.
His feelings were driving him wild. He wanted a mate, to settle down and have a family. But, would he be able to provide them with the love and care that they needed? Shelter, food..and attention. He was a loner, and alot of that was hard to find lately. With the packs claiming each half of the land, there was only a sliver in the middle that was the no-man's land. Right now, he was in the Starlands. They were the nice ones, or was that the Falling Moons? He shook his head, confused.
It was winter, which meant spring was coming. Which, also meant pups. Mates. He sighed, being a loner was a well...lonely life. He wanted to have a travelling companion, a mate for life. One to share his troubles with. But, that wouldn't happen, not for him, anyways. Sighing, he rested his head on his paws, waiting for the rain. It always soothed him, calmed him. But, it could be snow. He was sick of snow, so white...and cold. He shivered just at the thought.

K'tarni picked her way through the snow gracefully. She was in a good mood, one of the first of this kind since she had arrived at the Starlands. For the past week or so she had been living in solitude and silence and to her, which was torture. Under her breath she hummed a quiet tune that filled the air around her with a gentle buzz. She had no idea where she’d learnt it; it had just come to her once during her travels and stuck in her mind.
Her green eyes flashed up suddenly as she entered the clearing, noticing that she had stumbled upon the quiet sanctuary of another. Her blithe tune was silenced as she surveyed him carefully, subtly sniffing the wind to check if he was friend or foe, he certainly looked dark and brooding. She stumbled over a few pebbles noisily before coming to a complete halt, clearing her voice to make sure he was aware she had appeared.
"Sorry" She spoke, her lips tightened momentarily as she peered at his troubled expression. She offered him a smile before dipping her nose to him, still uncertain whether or not to trust him.

Lutheus heard a voice, sweet and pure. He raised his head to see a stunningly beautiful femme. She took his breath away. Her fur was like the snow that was soon to come, white and soft. Her eyes were a green, like the lush grass in the summer. "Hello." he barked as she dipped her nose in near him. "I'm Lutheus." he barked again, cocking his head to the side to look at the female. She looked flirtatious and bubbly, but you can't judge a book by it's cover, right? "Who may you be?" he asked, sitting up as his eyes glowed with curiousity.
It was like her voice had blessed the clearing, because a bird, dove-like began to coo happily, it's white feathers like a single grain of sand, delicate. She was...amazing. Alot nicer then that other one, Myu. The thought of her sickened him. She had hurt him, and it still stung when he blinked. He turned back to the newly found femme, blinking happily as he watched her.

One word: Gorgeous
K'tarni's eyes lit up with amusement as the dark stranger turned out to be a total gentleman. Her tail wagged gently as he mentioned his name. She mouthed it silently before giving him a look of approval "Nice to meet you," She chimed politely "My name is K'tarni." her lips gave way to another smile and her muscles relaxed ever so slightly. She was careful not to roll her ankle or get any pebbles caught between her pads as she made her way across the clearing and into the shelter of a nearby tree.
She allowed her eyes to carefully trace over his body - at first noticing the odd markings on his leg. A look of curiosity carved itself into her ivory features before she was sidetracked by the gash around his eye. She flinched a little at the sight, a look of worry touching her emerald stare "Oh, what happened there?" She tilted her head and took a step closer to get a better look. If she'd learnt anything over the past week of being here, it was that danger lurked around every corner, even in the beautiful Starlands.
She let her eyes rest on his "Are you new around here?" She asked bluntly, not meaning to sound so straightforward. She kept her eye on him curiously.

'K'tarni, what a beautiful name.' he thought dreamily, feeling like he was in the clouds. Her voice seemed out of reach, and he almost missed the next question. He winced when he did hear it. "Um.." he barked sheepishly, embarassed as to what a female could do to him. "Another female, I tried protecting her..." he whined, looking into her eyes. "And she kinda hurt me." he must've sounded ridiculous, but held his gaze into her eyes. Those eyes, were unique and beautiful. If the entire world was like that..it'd be a glorious world.
Another question was fired at him, this one was easy. 'Are you new around here?' Was her question. "New...yes." he replied calmly, scratching his ear. He had come from a place outside of Caden Valley, and liked it here. He planned on staying. "I want to start a family here." he told her, wondering if she had a mate. Well, a wolf as pretty as her had one for sure. He sighed again, it would never be.
"Where do you originate?" he asked, sounding serious, but not meaning to. Just...originate made him sound so divine and buisnessy. Like, no comical features in his life. Ha, that was wrong! He was quite the joker and was always cracking jokes, that weren't funny.

K'tarni gasped lightly and tutted under her breath. She shook her head "There are some ruthless wolves out there, no respect whatsoever." She took a few hesitant steps towards him before lowering her head "Let me have a look" Her tongue slipped between her lips and washed over his wound carefully. She stepped back to survey the now much cleaner wound "It's not too deep, it should fade in a couple of days." She shrugged lightly before offering him a sweet smile.
As more words melted from the handsome he-wolf's lips she made sure she listened intently. She nodded as he confirmed his status, a newbie, like herself. Her lip turned upward as he mentioned a family "A family? You came right in time then," she smiled "It will be Spring time soon." She looked at him through her lashes and allowed a soft laugh to enter the cool atmosphere. As her confidence gathered, she took to her all fours and did a small circle around him, taking on a business-like expression as she examined his dark figure. As she reached his front again, she let her business expression fade and be replaced by an impressed smirk "You have potential, I ‘spose." she teased playfully.
His next question provoked a few distant memories, which saddened her slightly "I come from a territory far from here. My mother, father and sisters still live there." She shrugged and sighed "I miss them a lot." She looked at her paws.

The conversation continued. They fired off questions to each other, both seeming interested. The sky had cleared and the sun was shining rays of light through the trees leaving streaks of sun across the Pebble Clearing. The warmth was welcoming and soothed him, leaving him feeling relaxed. Silence was now a thing of the past, birds sang and cooed. The leaves rustled with the patter of squirrels running along the branches, the world was at peace.
Lutheus smiled. Potential, yes. "My family were all slobs." he barked, thinking of them. Even the slightest thought made him want to rip something apart. But, not her, she was..perfection. Her family must've been nicer then his, if she missed them so much. Lutheus sighed, looking at his paws. "You have potential too, I 'spose." he teased, sniffing her. He broke into a light chuckle, the usual. His eyes softened and he looked back at her, smiling. "So...K'tarni.." he replied, looking back at her. Are you in any pack?" he asked curiously, wondering if she was all alone in the gigantic world. So many glorious places. But, this place here, was bitter-sweet. Many memories flooded over him. His mother, his father...the murdering...he took it all in at only a young age. He looked to K'tarni, her head low. He turned and nudged her, then licking her ear lightly.

She let a devious smirk replace her sweet grin upon learning that this male had no idea on which ground his paws stood upon. She let her green eyes wonder from him to the trees that now they seemed to have come to life. She turned her ivory face into the wind and sniffed at the air. She looked back at the dark male and nodded "Take a breath," She said, gesturing for him to do exactly what she had done "You can smell it on the breeze, the scent of my pack." She smiled quietly to herself "We are known as the Dancing Stars." She giggled "Actually, you are quite lucky you stumbled upon our lands, if you had come across the Falling Moon lands... Well... You might not have been so lucky."
Her face was quite serious as she spoke of the dangers of the Moons wolves. "You might want to alert Caden that you are here though," She said, a smile breaking over her serious expression at the mention of her beloved alpha "He is gentle and very wise, but getting on his bad side is not a very good idea." She blinked and then cemented her statement with a soft nod.

Lutheus smirked shyly, then wagged his fluffed tail ever so slightly. "Caden...Is he nice, or rude?" asked Lutheus happily, then shaking his head. "Err, I mean, does his temper flare often? he barked, re-adjusting his position to lie on his stomach, his head rested on his paws. He really wouldn't like to meet any nasty wolves. He did as K'tarni said, scenting the air. It was a sweet, free smell, like K'tarni. He smiled and breathed it in again, savouring ever little drop.
Hmm..Falling Moon, sounded nice, but according to K'tarni...very nasty. He thought to himself. He'd have to remember that.
