Caden waited patiently while she slid down the mud to catch up with him. At her spoken thought, his ears pricked upon his elevated cranium, and he turned to read her expression for a brief moment. He shrugged finally, thinking the thought to himself for a while longer. It was hard to imagine the Moons falling in love with a wolf to the point where they'd actually have pups. But still just because they were a bit colder than the rest of them didn't mean that they couldn't find love. "I think they'll have the same amount, if not close to the same amount."
He looked down and studied his paws as they treked through the mud, dirtying themselves further. He was in a quiet mood today, relaxed almost. Now was one of those rare times when he just wanted to take a nap and leave the pack duties to his beta, whom he hadn't seen in days, if not weeks. He sighed. Maybe it was time to appoint a new one, one who would be willing to help him out a little bit more. He wasn't mad at his Beta, but it just seemed to him that he was dealing with everything.
He nodded his agreement. "Well, I think we have some wolves here that were in the same earthquake," he answered. He did feel bad for the Moons, but honestly he found it a bit difficult to imagine the pack with feelings in general, let alone for their loved ones. [/blockquote]

Her ears flickered as she side glanced at Caden. In such a casual conversation, it was easy to tell that the Stars Alpha was not one to shed much emotion to others. She had no idea what he thought of pups of Falling Moon - or what the mention of the earthquake stirred in him. After all, even the wolves who didn't originate form that devasted valley understood that it was a dreadful situation. Or at least, that was what Taya had thought. Her paws itched with a sudden curiosity to dip a little further into Caden's mind.
Instantly, she thought of Roan. "Yes," she said quietly, while thinking back on her first conversation with the older wolf. He was just...so sad back then. Hopeless. But he seemed to be getting on much better lately. So, moving on was possible. "I've talked to one of our survivors He had lost a lot in such a short time."
Taya's nose twitched; Caden probably wasn't interested in talking about death and destruction right now. Maybe something more...refreshing. She turned her head to look at him. "What was your life like before you formed this pack, Caden?" she asked. In the back of her head she hoped it wasn't too pointed of a question - but perhaps an Alpha would expect to be asked such personals anyhow.
