Petite paws barely making a sound as they trod on the soft, crumbly ground that surrounded part of the pool, opposite the waterfall. On this side of the pool, the water was still and clear, allowing for a wolf's reflection to be seen in it.
Tallulah bent her pretty neck to lower her pretty head down to the pool, when she caught sight of her own, pretty eyes. The soft amber irises stared back at each other as a smile formed on the shewolf's face. As always, Tallulah couldn't help but notice her own beauty.
The daylight gave her fur an almost pearlescant, golden sheen, and as the wind blew, ruffling her fur and creating ripples on the water, sunbeams flew through the air in shards. Tallulah loved summer, her vanity made her feel all the more gorgeous on days like this.
However, as the water rippled, her clear reflection dissappeared, reminding her of her thirst - she didn't simply come here to stare at her own reflection, of course. She started to lap up the water until her thirst was quenched, and she turned away. The fae almost started to walk away, but instead took a moment to enjoy the chiming sound of water falling against rocks.

This place was so calm. Well, it used to be calm until those Falling Moons came along. Luka was perfectly happy with just having Caden rule the whole land, he wasn’t hurting him, neither was his sister or the few loners that were about, so he didn’t have any problems. But Falling Moon were troublesome. What worried him was they had came the way he had come, but didn’t connect the dots further. Luka had arrived close to a year ago, anyway. Those Falling Moons were just causing trouble and tension, and that’s not what Luka wanted. He enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere and now he was afraid to travel near the Falling Moon lands in case he was attacked. Getting hurt wasn’t on his to do list, nor was fighting. He was a coward, but he’d never admit it.
Lying at the edge of the pool, Luka was having a nice daydream. His paws were crossed over and hanging over the edge, and his tail twitched every so often. His left eye was closed, but his right remained half open. He slept like that often, seeing as there was no point in closing a blind eye. Luka just listened to the rushing waterfall, almost falling asleep until he heard pawsteps. Well, that was a lie, he barely heard them, but he felt a light vibration in the earth. He flattened his body as much as possible as instinct, and angled his head so he could see the wolf properly, seeing as he was on their left. He was a bit far away, though. He looked round at Tallulah, tail twitching.
My my, she was pretty. But she looked very young. Perhaps only a yearling. He blinked both eyes, but the red one stayed on the female. He watched her drink, keeping as still as possible so he made no noise. He could probably be her father, but that wasn’t the point. He was still youthful, although in body or mind, he wouldn’t say. Smirking at the thought, Luka watched Tallulah as she turned to leave, but then she stopped. Probably to enjoy the sound he was enjoying. “You’re almost as beautiful as it.” he said loud enough for her to hear, teasing her. Luka stood up slowly, making sure he could fully see her, his cocky smirk still there, “This place, I mean.”

Tallulah was surprised to hear a voice to her left - she hadn't realised there was another wolf anywhere near by. Still, she barely showed any sign of surprise; only a quick blink. Turning gracefully to get a better look at him, she realised he'd complimented her, and smiled - again she showed no sign of surprise however. As far as she was concerned, she was used to recieving compliments, and rightly so.
"I know," she said sweetly, complacently, not registering the words 'almost as'. As she got a better look at the wolf who had spoken to her, she saw that he wasn't bad looking. Rather handsome, actually, but as to being in her league she couldn't be sure. (Afterall, Tallulah didn't consider anyone to be in her own league of looks.) He seemed a couple of years older than her perhaps, but it was hard to tell as Tallulah had never seen herself as a pup. Pups were too immature, and often far too ugly.
"I'm Tallulah. And you are?" She said, in a sugar coated voice.

Luka hesitated, wondering if she even heard him properly. Probably not, or perhaps she was very vain. Either way, his smirk turned into a grin and he lumbered towards her with an almost drunken sway. Luka stopped at a friendly length away, looking at the waterfall then back at Tallulah. He gave her a silly bow, no doubt she might take it seriously. “Tallulah. A lovely name for a lovely wolf.” he commented, winking at her with his bad eye, “I’m Luka. I’m guessing it’s going to be nice knowing you.”
He caught her scent. It didn’t smell of anything specific apart from Falling Moon. Was she Falling Moon? Was she anything important in Falling Moon? He always wondered that if he ever met a wolf that was in a pack. If they were important, then they would be useful to him. Packs were always an important thing. Luka’s grin was more flirtatious now as he looked down at Tallulah, sitting down again. He wondered if she would enjoy his company. He would just be a nice, average wolf that would compliment Tallulah when he could to get on her good side.

Tallulah grinned at Luka's second compliment. She was already beginning to taking a liking to this wolf's attitude. If there was something that would never fail to draw her in, it was compliments - unless the wolf who was using them was ugly of course, that'd put her right off. After all, who'd want to hang around with someone who was odd-looking when you could hang around with pretty wolves?
"Likewise," she replied, with a smirk. "So I take it you're a loner, since you don't seem to have the... attitude of a Dancing Star?" Tallulah might have been a vain, self-obsessed creature, but it didn't mean she couldn't be observant. She rarely failed to notice things about others, but she was usually too wrapped up in herself to comment on them.
However, someone that caught her eye was well, Luka's eyes. They were odd, slightly disconcerting - one was blue, one was red. She'd never met a wolf with different coloured eyes before, and it made her quite curious. The rest of the wolf appeared normal, so what was the explanation for his eyes? She didn't realise it might not be tactful to ask about it, but Tallulah was always matter of fact when it came to physical flaws and looks in general.
"What happened to your eyes? Were you born like that?" She said, a little bluntly but still with a smile upon her face.

Her guess was correct, perhaps she wasn’t just a pretty face. It was rare to find a female like that; beautiful, vain and intelligent. But perhaps the intelligence was sly and not the knowledgeable kind. Either way, her guess was correct, and that‘s what mattered. Luka nodded. “And you’re Falling Moon.” he stated more than asked. It was obvious by her scent, and the way she seemed to be bitter about mentioning the Dancing Stars. See, this is what he didn’t like. There was tension. He would roll his eyes if she wasn’t so beautiful, and if he didn’t know he’d benefit from being friendly with her.
His eyes? His grin disappeared momentarily. He didn’t really like talking about his past, but Tallulah just told him the idea he needed to hide the fact he had lost his sight in a fight. She didn’t even need to know he was blind. “Yes, my eyes have been like this since I was born.” he replied, looking into the water that was slowly calming to look at his eyes. Of course he could still see his blind eye, but it was discomforting that he couldn’t see Tallulah. He quickly looked round at her, his smile there in a flash.
“Why? Like them?” he chuckled. He was being vain, but also joking a bit. He looked Tallulah up and down, his smile quavering a bit as he did, a bit confused. He had only spotted one wolf, and that was just a glimpse, look similar to Tallulah, and she seems to be the same age as her. He wondered who her parents was and, predictably, if they were of any importance. “I suppose your parents trust you to be this far away from the pack?” he taunted, and perhaps it would lead to information about her parents, “All grown up and pretty enough?”

Red or the blue. Luka had never really thought about it himself, but he liked the red more. The colour red was mostly known as a savage colour, the colour of blood, but it could be calm if used right. Like if it was on someone’s fur. Sometimes it could be conveyed as calming if the wolf was calm. Luka wondered if Tallulah would ever make a decision, and he was actually interested in her answer. Well, he was actually interested in her, so that would probably be why. He felt like he needed to know everything about her, and what he needed, he got.
His tail twitched. Luka must obviously be an idiot then, and he didn’t like that name at all. So he put on a taunting smirk and tried to guess who her parents were. Well, her brother, at least. He didn’t know any Falling Moon that was all muscle, and the power of her father. He was terrible at guessing games. Usually he never trusted his gut instinct, which was right most of the time. Luka kept his smirk, was her father the beta? Power of her daddy… Oh yes, he had just hit the jackpot. Luka was pretty sure her father was Duke.
“Good point. But only an idiot would stay away.” Luka was used to giving many compliments to females, so usually they just rolled off his tongue without him even meaning to. Luka was sure Tallulah would like that in a male, but was also sure she’d want one her age. Who even said she wanted a man? She’d have a few flings here and there of course, and that’s what Luka did. He would be happy with just a few friendly licks here and there from her. He couldn’t believe he was thinking all this after just seeing her, and he was quite sure she must have something magical about her to be able to do that.

The golden fae grinned at Luka's line, knowing she should have seen that coming. The creamy tip of her tail almost flashed as it flicked from side to side in humour, sunlight reflecting of her fur's sheen. She'd slowly become desensitized slightly to senseless flattery like that; it didn't mean she didn't always enjoy it however, or see the funny side.
"I walked into that one, didn't I?" She said coyly, still grinning. It was odd, however pretty compliments made her feel, she almost preferred being teased in a way - it was still attention, which was always good, it just made getting compliments a bit more of a challenge. Anyone could recieve backhanded chat-up lines, but only wolves as gorgeous as Tallulah considered herself, deserved truly-meant compliments.
Suddenly, she got it into her head to wind-up this male a little, and see if he was still so keen on her after that. A test, if you like. She stared at his indecisively for a moment, guessing he was probably wondering what her favourite eye colour was. It would be dull if I agreed with him, she thought, plus red is such a brute's colour.
"Blue," she said with a teasing smile. "Red's a little.... scary." [/blockquote]

“Mhm, you did.” Luka chuckled, nodding. He liked hearing her voice, more than his own anyway. His voice was deep and nice, but hers was soft with a hint of vanity(if possible). Probably not vanity, more like confidence. Lots of confidence. He tilted his head to the right, so she liked blue better? He almost expected it, considering she was female. Although confident and an egoist, she seemed very feminine when it came to other things like choice of colours. But scary? He didn’t think his original eye colour was that bad!
“Scary? Why? I’d think, seeing as you grew up with a pack like Falling Moon and a father like Duke-” he just hoped he wasn’t making a fool of himself saying that, “You’d be perfectly fine with just a colour.” He wouldn’t ramble about it, but Luka wanted to say something witty that wasn’t a compliment. His ear twitched, and he looked round at the waterfall to stop himself from staring, as much as Tallulah may not like it. “Don’t want to give you nightmares with this ‘scary’ eye.” he smirked.

She couldn't help but grin and think how endearing it was, Luka babbling on about how she shouldn't be scared or something - not that she was listening properly, she'd just caught a glimpse of her reflection again as the water in the pool lay still, and she was now caught up in how gorgoeus she was. Ah, vanity. Luka had probably not even been babbling, but Tallulah had a tendancy towards a short-attention span when it came to anything but herself.
However, as the wind blew, rippling the water and making her reflection vanish, Tallulah's ears perked up and started listening properly to Luka once more. Nightmares? Fat chance. Seeing his smirk, she felt a hint of competetiveness rise up in her. Who was he to tease her, when it was normally Tallulah who did the teasing? She shrugged nonchalently, pretending not to care although a certain glint into her eye.
"Who said I'd be dreaming about you anyway? Although I'm pretty sure I could take a guess as to what you'll be dreaming about." Oh yes, in her arrogance she knew what he'd been dreaming about: herself. They all did, she thought with a hint of lighthearted smugness. It brought a sense of satisfaction to know that she wasn't ugly.

Luka smirked as he slowly looked at his reflection. He gazed at it, eyelids twitching when it rippled, but he didn’t look away. Something about Tallulah was interesting, more interesting then any other female he had met so far. And let me tell you, he had met a lot of females. The red eye in his rippling reflection looked like a blob of blood, and he slowly looked round at Tallulah again, his smirk slowly vanishing. To be honest, he was getting a little bit bored.
Luka wondered how exactly her mind worked. Was it just ‘Tallulah, Tallulah, Tallulah, Tallulah!’ or, was it something am bit different, like ‘Tallulah, Tallulah, Tallulah, or you’re so pretty, Tallulah!’. He smirked on the inside about it. Tilting his head to the right a bit, Luka looked over her again, listening to her every word, almost hanging on them. He hesitated. “Oh yes, I’m sure you do!” he said charmingly, offering her a smile, “Your ever so beautiful sister.” He knew Tallulah had a sister. Whenever you heard the name Duke, usually you thought of his little helper and daughter, Rose. Luka didn’t know her name, though. Just the fact that she existed.
ooc| Sorry for the length. I gotta go.

Sister? What the hell? Since when did Tallulah have a beautiful sister - she herself had always been the most stunning in the family, of course. Suddenly something clicked, reminding her of the sister who Tallulah always seemed to be competiting a little with.... Rose. Tallulah managed to keep the smile plastered to her pretty face, although it faded a little, and her eyes grew stonier.
If that was how Luka wanted to play it, she'd play it like that too. "Ah, yes, Rose," she said, as if delighted. Tallulah could act pretty well if she wanted to. She glanced at Luka, a bitchy smile upon her face, and said, "You should have seen her mate, i'm sure he'll be back any day now. Big burly sort. Two eyes the same colour, of course."
It was obvious Luka was a little sensitive about his eyes, seeing as he'd seemed so keen to ask her opinion of them being different colours and such like. So, being a bitch, Tallulah decided to use this to her advantage. It wasn't that she didn't like Luka or was trying to particularly hurt his feelings, but she was, in a sense, trying to make him 'pay' for the Rose-comment. She became rather competitive in such conversations, especially when her sister was involved. [/blockquote]

Luka stared at Tallulah. She certainly was the bitchy sort, he’d give her that. It was a shame Luka can’t help but make fun of others. It was just like flirting with females for him. Teasing just happened. He let the insult slide, knowing he was certainly an average looking wolf and his eyes were not what any normal wolf would have. Two coloured eyes were rare, if one of those eyes were blind that could be even rarer. Luka didn’t really know, and he suddenly felt very unique. “Oh, I’m guessing he was.” he answered, “Did they have pups? What were they like? What is Rose like?” he asked, as if only interested in Tallulah’s sister.
Hmm. If Rose had a mate that died, Luka could comfort her. But was she all wrapped up in personal guilty of not being able to do anything? Luka knew he would be if he was a female. Although he’d be a very gorgeous female. Haha, Luka? Female? Absurd. He still had some manly traits that made him what he was, although those traits were very small. Luka hated that fact. He wondered if Tallulah enjoyed speaking about her sister. Luka needed to learn a lot about this female, not because he was planning on some shameless flirting, but because she was drop dead gorgeous.
He thought that, then a raving mad Duke came to mind. Oh dear lord, what if he got a bit too close to Tallulah? Duke would not be happy with a wolf around three years older than his ickle daughter flirting with her. Okay. Luka would just treat her like any other girl, that would be easy! He had seen beautiful females before. Well. Not as pretty as her. nah, he could do it.

Tallulah rolled her eyes petulantly. Was all this talk about her sister really necessary - surely the brute could not be so interested in someone he'd never even met. Or had he met her? He'd started off acting as if he had, and now he was asking questions such as 'what was she like', which obviously showed that he really knew nothing about Rose at all. Tallulah might have been self obsessed but she certainly wasn't stupid - the idea soon came to her that Luka was just trying to wind her up.
Perhaps he wanted her to be jealous. Hah. Tallulah didn't do jealous; after all, what was there to be jealous of, when she was clearly the most gorgeous, intellegent, fabulous fae out there? She had yet to meet someone who was up to her own standards, and highly doubted whether she would. Luka may have been charming, but he was, like everyone else, simply not upto Tallulah's standards in her opinion.
Still, even for all her pride, she was a little jealous. "Let's not talk about Rose, i'm sure there are far more fascinating topics of conversation," she said with a stubborn smile. She would have it her way, or no way. Simple. Even though she did love attention, if he continued to talk about Rose, Tallulah would have to find someone else to keep her company.
